    New and improved.

I really struggled starting with #7. If Wilcox, Gooden, Butler, Ming, Williams, and Dunleavy are gone, what do you think the Knicks will do? You think Hilario or Stoudamire? For some reason it's just hard for me to imagine a white, 7-foot beanpole in a New York Knicks jersey.

First of all, see my thread regarding trading the 15, 37 and possibly a player to move up a bit in the first round. I think the clippers would be a good team to deal with. They're basically set at the 2,3 & 4 spots (and 5 if they keep Olawakandi). This is a good draft for 3s and 4s. It's also what's going to be available to them at 8 and 12. Borchardt's probably available at 8 and maybe even 12, but what PG will be available worth picking there? I think Frank Williams is a bit of a reach at 12. I don't see the clippers holding on to both of those picks without unloading one of their forwards. Either way the Rocks could benefit from dealing with them. Seems like Baylor hasn't made the shrewdest moves in the past. Perhaps the Rocks could take advantage of him being in a strange position. Barring a trade I see the draft going down something like this:

But I really see the Rockets making a move.

Nice look and picks you have there.

My Sisters Fiance is a scout for the Clippers. He and I have talked endlessly on all the goings on behind the scenes.Tons of things are happening all at once, but only 1% of all the talk actually will take place.;) :)

What he was getting is that the clippers will let Odom and the #8 go to the Rockets for the #1, which the Clippers would use for J.Williams. But now in the past two days things have changed...................

The latest is the Clippers will be giving up there rights to Big Michael "O" and the # 12 to the Blazers for Rasheed Wallace. So the Blazers get Michael "O" and the high schooler Stoudamire. The Clippers will then have Wallace, Brand, and Miles up front. And they also plan on moving the # 8 and Macinnis to Denver for the #5. Which they state will be Butler, Tskitishvili or Hillario. And then move Odom to the point on offense, with Q.Richardson to play the points on defense. With Jaric ( the next Stojakovic) Dooling , and Magette backing up............WOW now that's a full nasty lineup. Wallace, Brand, Miles, Butler?, Odom, Richardson, Magette, Dooling, and Jaric as a sweet 9 man rotation.................And by draft day it will probably be all turned upside down. For example the Lakers, Clippers, and Nuggets are wheeeling and dealing as well, The Lakers looking hot for Woods to join Kobe in the running game.............scary fun thought for a Laker fan.

By the way Diehard Rocket fan..............where did you hear anyting about a Cilpper/Blazer trade?

    :)

    virtuoso,

you should try posting in the Rockets 2002 Game Action and Roster Moves forum.

more participation and info there. i'd be interested to hear what the senior members of Clutch BBS have to say..

I think the Blazers will benefit from the deal. Wallace has hit his prime. Kandi is still growing as a player and will soon be the 2nd best center in the West, if not the league.

Blazers know they're not going anywhere until they get a legit 5 that can at least slow shaq.

    Here is my mock draft.

I tried to spice it up a little with Butler/Wagner slipping and Maybener moving up. All unlikely, but even if I tried to reason it all out, I will lose this game and finish somewhere in the middle, as always. :)

Here's mine. I wrote pretty long explanations.
    http://www.clutchcity.net/mockdraft.cfm?xMockID=2636

Question: Who do you guys think New York would rather have, Wilcox or Hilario? I know they've been hyping up Wilcox, but I've heard it might be a smokescreen to help them land Hilario. Opinions?

My last try... probably way off, but this is the hardest draft to project in a LONG while. If GS picks someone other than Dunleavy, everything is going to fall apart. Same if Memphis takes Jeffries at 4...

So, how did everyone do? Personally, I had the first 5 picks correct as well as 11 and 13 - with two bonus picks, I've got 20 points. Probably not a winning figure, but not bad. If only I had Nachbar at 15 like I wanted in the end...

I did very similar to you. I got 1-5 correct, and 11 and the money ball at 15. In the ESPN pick'em I got in the 94.6% percentile.

Damn, I finished third! I thought I had it. If it wasn't for stupid LAC picking Ely with the 12th pick, the Bucks would have almost surely taken him at 13 and I would've been the winner! Man, I really thought I had this won seeing as how I was 40th out of the 50,000 or so people on ESPN's Mock Draft. I thought that would have translated to #1 on this site, but I didn't even get second.
