Who cares if they are best friends? On the court, they must complement eachother as well as with other players on the team. Do you want a team of best buddies, or a team of complimentary players?>
One of the very few intelligent remarks on this entire website. Rice needs to go, so does Moochie, possibly Taylor. As to who to get? Lots of possibilities after these moves, but not Robinson. I don't see Mobley nor Griffin leaving either. Cooler heads will prevail. Smarter people than us at this already. We will be happy and surprised I assure you.
I thought T.J considered coming out this year? Is he sticking to his words and staying in UT for another year?
If Mobley stays, we'll never be a championship contender...we might make the playoffs and get booted in the first round though.
What makes you think this? It has been posted earlier by bbs "insiders" that thier relationship was greatly overstated on here and in the media. Not saying they aren't buds but I don't think they're talking to each other on walkie talkies every night before they go to sleep.
If Mobley is traded, it's the end for Rudy the coach also. Mobley is his type of player and he plays hard.... dump at times but always hard. And in case your hatred of Mobley completely blinded you to his progress this season, he IS getting better. Kobe better? NO WAY, but he is better in most facits of the game. The one complain everyone has his is so call refusal to pass into Ming. That I believe is too blown up. I think he is getting better at it, just like Stevie is getting better at it. I'm sure if it's that easy to pass to Ming WHEN HE IS IN GOOD POSITION, then all 4 guys would do it all the time. But lets face facts, Ming cannot get Good position all the time and when he does for that split second (that happened a lot last season), the guys with the ball are simply not "Kidd" enough to get it to him. So we go after Kidd as a FT, sure thing but it's not going to happen short of S&T with major pieces. Can Steve AND Mobley learn to pass better. I think so. And please don't tell me Mobley is not a good shooter. He forces it sometimes but when he's shooting within the passing schemes that was working in many of the games last season, he was on more times then off. Now if a trade for Brand or some major PF of his caliber requires Mobley then it's something to consider seriously. But don't just trade Mobley so you can get him out of town.
have you ever read an interview with one of them. they say themselves they are like brothers. steve considers cuttino's mom his own. if you watch anything like BET or MTV when steve or cuttino are around, you will see the other in the background.
I agree. I like Mobley alot and he doesn't deserve the bashing that this site gives him. I say that we keep him.
I don't know that Mobley will not be traded, but I don't think trading him for the sake of running him out fo town without getting someone significant(Brand like) will be in the Rockets best interests. In fact I think the problem is that we do not have more players with the heart, determination and offseason dedication that he shows. I know he tends to make poor decisions sometimes but I do not think it's for lack of effort. The guy plays hard, shows his frustration with losses and seems to be willing to accept fault when he makes mistakes. I believe that if some of the other Rocket players would have played as hard as he does this team would not be watching the playoffs from home. I mean I've been watching the Suns in the playoffs and and they have guys like Marion, Stoudemire, Outlaw, and Marbury that have the hustle and determination that I wish some of our guys showed more often.
I also don't think Cuttino's getting traded. And I hope he doesn't. If you notice, the 3 people the Media keep interviewing about the Rox next season are Yao, Cuttino and Francis, which makes you think that maybe they plan on keeping those 3 around. The only position I think they'll really change around is the SF/PF position.
