What about trusting your teammates? Sure Mobley, and Francis are the best shooters however that is the reason they are the ones that have to drive and kick out. They demand the most respect from the defense. That means that somone else's guy is going to come off to double on Cat, and Steve. Once that happens they need to find the open guy, and trust that he is going to make the shot. These guys (not Cat, and Steve) are in the NBA, and will make more shots than they miss. Sure it's not going to work 100% of the time but it's good "Team Basketball" and it would help build confidence in guys like Nacbar, and Griffen as shooters.

I understand that you can't base your entire offense on this, and run it every time however it should be a very important part of the offense. Until Yao is prepared to be a dominant force in the paint this style of offense would be the Rockets best chance at a winning record. They have the players to successfully run this kind of offense they just need to be taught how.

Exactly. This is what makes this so frustrating. Either Rudy can't control them or they don't care. Something is rotten in Denmark. Also, Cuttino should learn "when NOT to shoot" as well, as in, if my teammate is wide open and I have multiple defenders crawling on me.

Looks like they (Rudy, Cat, Mooch, etc.) know what they need to do. They are just not doing it. Why? It is too hard for them?

Don't depress me. I'm in denial. I don't want to think the thought that Cat and Francis can watch tape and see what needs to be done, but Rudy can't help the see it on the court.

Damn you Easy. Why the f!ck did you choose that moniker for yourself. You are not Easy. You are making me worry, which makes my Rockets World difficult.

Actually I think that Mooch is a good POINT guard.

He and T. Brown had very good court vision (better than Francis).

But what ends up happening is that Rudy see that these players have
scoring ability, tells them to ISO, and the rest is history.

Or, Rudy will tell Mooch to bring the ball up, then pass to Francis for
more ISOs.

So, I really don't blame Mooch.

I agree that Moochie is not a bad passer. In fact, the arguement that he is a good passer is backed up by his stats a few season ago.

Heres the dilemma, does Moochie know this? If Moochies greatest asset is his passing, and obviously, not his shooting, then how come he cant recognize this?

If Rudy recongizes this, yet still has Moochie running ISOs, then I agree its Rudy's fault. However, if this is not what Rudy is preaching and Moochie is taking it upon himself to deviate from the game plan, they I absolutely blame Moochie for not recognizing his own abilities.

In the end, Im starting to get the impression that our offense is almost 100% a reactionary offense, similar to the triangle offense. If so, it comes down to the initiators of the offense (notice i didnt use the term "point guard") making the right decisions, hence, the ill advised shots of the M and M ISO twins.

Sometimes I think that Rudy is so simpled minded that if he sees
a player has scoring talent, he just milks it to death. Why?
Well, it requires no coaching.

OR. And this is in defense if Rudy. Rudy actually tries to teach those
players how to play as a team, but they were so used to just doing
ISO, that they ignore it.

I mean, think about it. If you were a player on the Rockets, and you
were just starting out with the team. You play w/in the team. Then,
you show some scoring ablity. Then, Rudy comes to you one day and
says, "You know those moves you were doing the other day? I'm going
to give you the green light to do that."

Once you hear that you never go back to your old ways (team play).

Mooch was probably thinking, "Oh, boy! This is my chance to get a shoe
contract!"

Heh heh....Want more funny?

Now think about Rudy going back to
Mooch and saying, "Remember that time
I gave you the green light? Well, I want
you to go back to the way you use to play:
team play."

Then, Mooch thinks, "There goes my shoe contract."
