Cat would be deadly with a dominant big man. He played good in that stretch w/ a healthy Hakeem in our first 45 win season. He would be incredible with KG or Duncan. He was more than decent this year with the limited shots that he got with Yao. A combo of Duncan, Cat, Ginobili, and Parker would be the best in the NBA, offensively and defensively......

But Cat is a free agent after this year, correct?

    A few things...

-Mobley can be traded in a one for one (or one for two...) swap at any time.

-The Spurs should have the cap room to absorb any difference between Hedo's salary and Mobley's, depending on how they handle renouncements, resignings, etc.

-Are the Magic dumb? First, they sign Turkoglu to a ridiculous contract, then they want to lose Mobley in the process? Only advantages are giving Turkoglu even more money (12.5% raise vs. 10%), and still having the MLE at their disposal. I hope they're at least getting something else out of this.

i swear, if this happens and is a straight one for one swap, boozer comes west due to paxson's sheer stupidity, and kmart somehow leaves nj and ends up in the west because they decide to get cheap, just shut the friggin' east down except for detroit and indy.

the west seems to retain all it's talent, or just swap it around with other west squads, and the east just seemingly tries to get worse and worse. we've got tmac and yao and we're not even that good over here.

Just shows Weisbrod's continued stupidity if true. Mobley for Turkoglu? Mobley is a better player than even Ginobili if you ask me. It won't be given much attention in the media, but Spurs become the favorite if they add Cat. His defense, outside shooting, and ability to create alongside Parker make them difficult.

They're clearly doing it because they want to use their MLE on someone else, or a bunch of other players.

They need to sign one big guy and one PG with the MLE after this deal, and they can make a run at homecourt. Assuming they get Damon Jones and Keon Clark:

    Cato/Clark/Declerq
    Howard/Gooden/Clark
    Turkoglu/Hill/Garrity/Bogans(if hill is not healthy)
    Francis/Turkoglu/Stevenson
    Nelson/Damon Jones/Francis

Pretty damn godo for the East. Could I go as far as to say T-Mac made a mistake? Look at the team with him on it:

    Clark/Declerq
    Howard/Howard/Gooden
    Turkoglu/Hill/garrity/Bogans
    T-Mac/Turkoglu/Stevenson
Jameer Nelson/Damon Jones/Lue if he doesn't opt out

    Which team is better?

Heard SA have agreed to resigned Ginobilli for 50 + million or something like that. Why would they trade for Cat if they are paying Ginobilli that much to be their starting SG?
