Eric Snow's stats per game: 12.5 points, 6.8 Assists, 3.9 rebs, 1.7 stls, 2.6 to, 44.4% from the field, 86.3% free throw shooter. Not bad, and I think he plays pretty good defense. He's exactly the kind of guy we need. Yes, Steve will still dominate the ball, but he won't have the pressure of setting people up as much. And we'd have a better fast break offense and do a better job of running the plays Rudy T. wants to run. Snow will play smart and execute! Oh yeah, Philly wouldn't do it.
See, it's at times like this I wonder... Who is, in fact, more valuable in the NBA (assuming salaries equal).....Cuttino Mobley or Eric Snow? If you're picking for an empty team, and you can have either, which would you pick? I get the feeling Mobley is much more talented, younger (I think), a better scorer, a good defender (not as good), and is actually a scorer. Snow is a very good defensive player, great asst/to ratio, listens to the coach, can make all open shots. He's very very solid. But of course, that's not the point. Despite Mobley being a beter individual player, the Rockets with Eric Snow are probably better than the Rockets with Cuttino Mobley. Anyhoo...Here's a decent trade idea: Houston trades: Cuttino Mobley Moochie Norris Houston gets: Greg Buckner John Salmons Samuel Dalembert Eric Snow Memphis trades: Brevin Knight Stromile Swift Memphis gets: Moochie Norris Cuttino Mobley Philadelphia trades: Eric Snow Greg Buckner Samuel Dalembert John Salmons Philadelphia gets: Brevin Knight Stromile Swift Now, look at this. Whoever you think gets the bad end of this trade (us or Philly obviously) send them some sort of pick to make up the difference. Personally, I'd throw in a FUTURE & LOTTERY PROTECTED pick from Memphis to Philly. But you have some wiggle room there. Thoughts?
BTW, here are the line-ups after trading: Ming/Cato Griffin/MoT/TMo Posey/Rice/TMo Francis/Buckner/Salmons Snow/Francis/Salmons Cut Dalembert or Collier. Wright/Gasol/Trybanski Gasol/Gooden Battier/Gooden Mobley/Giricek/Dickerson J-Will/Moochie/Watson So far, it looks like West will move Person for talent at C, but if he doesn't, person will stick around off the bench for the rest of the season while Dickerson recovers. They do, however, have a lsightly crowded backcourt, so there may need to be an adjustment to the trade where: Cato goes to Philly, Macculough goes to Memphis, Lorenzen Wright goes to Houston. Something of that nature. Philly: Macculough/Skinner/Swift Swift/KT/Coleman (if he's still around) Van Horn/KT/McKie Iverson/McKie Brevin Knight/McKie My suggestion here would be to trade Coleman for Kenny Anderson, which would benefit both Seattle and Philly, or they can just go with this, which is MUCH improved in the frontcourt, but the backcourt gets slightly smallish. Thoughts?
Philly would never ever trade Eric Snow unless they are blowing up the team. Trust me, I've been a philly fan for awhile now. Why would they trade for another shooting guard when they have one who commands the ball so often? Basically we need all the role players we can get our hands on becuase we have such a dominant star player. Our back court depth is weak and Snow is our pillar. No go, sorry.
