heypee!!! shhhhhh!!! mobleys defense sucks! and he doesn't pass either!!! the hatas are always right!
Um, I didn't make Ginobillia a ROY candidate, unfortunately such juice don't flow through my veins. Hype, history, overhype, underhype, don't matter he IS a ROY candidate on every list I've seen. I haven't said I think he'll win; I just answered a question as to WHY he is considered a candidate. As for Spurs fan's homerism; I don't know what Spurs fans you know, but on the respectible boards, the consistent poster are realists & knowlegeable fans. They criticize players, management, god, etc... Your HATRED seems to be the much more blind than my homerism, frankly.
If I'm going to post on this board, I have to expect as much. As for personal insults, they are what they are. The people who toss them know me as a series of opinions in a pointless thread. I know myself as a guy whose going to watch the Spurs from center court 6th row up tonite, next to my wife, with two of my children, sitting in one of MY FOUR charter seats in the brand - spanking new SBC center (I attended the introduction for season ticket holders last night: WOW). Nothing people here say changes that fact.
S. Smith, S. Kerr, D. Ferry. Last year the Spurs led the league in 3pt %. Each of those players has led the league in 3 pt %. Kerr is all-time league leader. You obviously CANNOT be objective regarding the Spurs. Look at the depth chart before you make ignorant statements.
no, you did not say that he would be ROY, 101 6 7. i'm not accusing you of that. but there are legions that do. also, i believe the only time i have insulted you has been when provoked...otherwise i'm pretty courteous w/folks. as for the SBC Center, i understand pop was in rare form last night! everyone else is talking about the SBC and having a cocktail or two. pop starts going on about Xs and Os and trying to field questions! that's classic...
what are you talking about??? i did not say they didn't have jump shooters. was there something that did not compute?
Sorry; when you wrote the Spurs "need jump shooters" you actually meant the Spurs "don't need jump shooters". My bad.
this is what i said (below). what are you talking about? ginobili needs to be able to stick the j if he's going to get serious pt and a shot at the ROY with the spurs. i don't think he'll get the PT if he can't stick the j consistently...thus crippling his "chances" at ROY. what is so hard to decipher about that? when i said "ginobili" did you read "all the spurs"?
Actually, that's a sore subject right about now. New seats; I'm surrounded by folk her like the Spurs, can afford the seats, don't care much about b-ball particulars, or what Pop had to say last night. I couldn't make much out - also the accoustics in that place are best when filled, which was not the case last night.
Verse, you're right. With no sarcasm this time, my bad. Reading too fast. I posted earlier that Manu WAS known as a shooter in Europe & holds the record for consecutive 3's in the Italian league. But, again, he hasn't shown that in his time here as of yet.
is your sig a way of remembering where the spurs moved you to? in all seriousness...not trying to be a prick.
I'll be damned. The Spurs Fan Apologists are showing up now. Show me were anyone called Gino a bust. No one said "bust." We said "not a star." Big difference mr Spur Apologist. ...next
ah...we were 4th row, behind the basket on the visitor's end of the court at the dome. seats actually got better with the move to the SBC because the players will enter right next to our seats... didn't go last night, but i understand it was memorable.
I'm not dismissing your entire point, but any supposition based on the assumption that Mobley would be a much superior defender than those on the Olympic Team has started off on the wrong foot, IMO...
did you watch the Olympics? MacBethie boy. You must be the only one. I watched the World Championships. Did you notice how little the guards (except for Pierce) cared about playing defense? Ray Allen dropped out and they decided not to replace him. We went in one player short. The fact they didn't fill that role with either Brent Barry or Cuttino Mobley is plain careless. And I will make this prediction MacBeth...Mobley's defense is the most underrated skill on the Rockets. You will not see too many players driving past him. They will have to shoot over him. Mark my words. Last year at this time (about 3 or 4 games into preseason) I said Kenny Thomas will prove to be the most underrated rated player on the Rockets, and to watch Torres. What is your prediction?
