I see alot of potential in the MOOCH now, I think Van Gundys style of play will fit will with him, lets not just count him out just yet.....besides he was a Fan favorite and his bobblehead doll was kinda cool freaky.....
maybe this is all REALLY about somebody shorter then JVG, that and of course the extra hair he can super glue to his forehead when they shave Moochie....... am I dreamin...Moochie Norris ?//..lol...
Mooch or Barret? I say Mooch can shoot better. Now, he needs to cut down dribbling, no TO. Is that too much to ask from Mooch?
It ain't about contributions. It's about Yao. They traded his CS buddy, so they have to gave him back something so he re-signs.
This is one busy thread! Concerning the possibility of Payton ending up here... that hit me as soon as I heard that Atlanta was probably going to waive him.... the questions that come up may counterbalance one another. For talent and skills would you rather have Moochie or Payton? .. AND For chemistry both on and off the court which would you prefer? It's like two parallel criteria that affect the whole. So if it were to become a serious possibility which would we prefer?
I'm going to give Mooch a clean slate to prove himself again. I won't deride him until he sucks on the court again.
this trade helps Rockets get rid of 18,000,000 dollars payment for next two seasons. Moochie and Baker will be freeman at the end of this season, plus the wage cap left 2,300,000 dollars, ROX will have about 10,000,000 in hand at the end of this season. that means we will have enough money to go after a real good PF in the market. Anyway it is a good trade, especially for the future construction.
I can't read the whole 15 pages but you guys know we didn't give them a first round pick, all we gave up was Mo.
Um, no. I could be wrong, but I believe the Rockets will have Moochie and Baker for next season as well. Which is OK in a way, because we can use them to trade. The Rox probably saved about 8 to 10 million on Isiah Thomas' stupidi---um, savvy trade skills.
someone's probably mentioned this already, but seeing as how moochie (along with John Amaechi) was traded to NY for Weatherspoon in December 2003, by taking him back now, what we have ultimately done is: Trade Taylor and Amaechi for: Weatherspoon, Vin Baker and a second round pick. Of course you have to consider Taylor's drop from the rotation, the addition of Juwan Howard, who's been doing great recently, and Scott Padgett, and, of course, contract considerations. But if that was the deal we were offered back in 2003 I think it would have been laughed off by the posters. Funny how times change.
Vin was interviewed on tv in houston tonite and he was really excited. He said I still have a lot of game left. He said he hopes people do not expect him to just come here and sit on the bench. He said he should have been playing in NY but there was problems there. He also said he wants to contribute and help bring a title here. They also talked to moochie and basically he said Yao is one of his better friends in the league. Also if the system is the same he can come in and contribute sunday.
I could be totally wrong here, but didn't we also deal a 1st rounder to NYK in the Mooch/Amechi for Spoon deal?
What is Vin supposed to say? That he is washed up, a raging alcoholic, and cant wait to excersice his option on the contract? As for moochie, if he is referring to the dribble-driibble till shot clock fizzle-fizzle system, then he is in for a rude awakening. Not that the system matters as far as Moochie is concerned. He is just not NBA matrial.
