i realize mo can actually play and score and vin and moochie can't (i can't remember seeing either in a game in forever) but if we didn't include a 1st round pick, then isiah is even stupider than i thought, and i thought he was pretty damn stupid. here rockets, lemme take that massive contract and give you some shorter ones. and i'll get a guy who won't start for my team and certainly won't elevate the level of our play much beyond the sub-.500 level it's at now. brilliant. now CD just needs to hope mullin is still around at next year's deadline and that he can beat everyone else to make a trade with him.
in news just in as part of the three way deal Minnesotta throws in Kevin Garnett, finally solving our lingering pf problem
Holy Crap. That would be awesome. Think about it. Our 2nd round picks will be way low, so low that it's almost the same as an undrafted free agent. NY will continue to suck ass while Isiah is there and b/c of their horrible contracts won't improve, so their pick will actually be fairly good.
CD said that guys need to pass physicals. (He sounds very tired) He is talking about how good Badiane and Spounalis are, so he thinks that the future #2 may pan out as such. On Mike James -- Very tough defender, thinks that JVG will make him even better. In response to whether he would start right away -- "we don't have much left." Mike James' wife is frim Houston, so Mike James is thrilled to come here. CD said that a couple of GMS have called and congradulated him, because they themselves were trying to get him.
Wow. Wow. Wow. This is actually nice. I believe we owe the Knicks our 2nd rounder this year as compensation for JVG. That's why we gave the Bucks our #2s in 06/07 rather than this year. I wonder if we get the Knicks 2nd rounder (which would be top 1/2 of the round) or if we're getting ours back?
This is just strange. If this is all true, why didn't we just sign him last year when he was a free agent? It's not like he got Derek Fisher money. Whatever. Glad he's here.
This is GREAT! Now we can reunite Yao with his old elementary school classmate: (front row, third from right)
CD didn't say much or anything new about Moochie and Baker. Said that they love Moochie as a person and that he still has his house here. Said that Baker may surprise us. Talked about Yao's resurgance -- said that he is encouraged by his developement and feels that Yao will REALLY be a force when he's 28 or 29. He also joked that now he "gets upset" when Yao misses a shot.
28 or 29? (My rare use of rolling eyes) Like he's not a force now. To me, Yao to the Rockets will almost like Duncan to the Spurs. He is that good already!
SamCassell,I realized later Chad Ford was ESPN's guy. Thanks for pointing it out. I sure glad we didn't give up a 1st round pick and got a 2nd rounder in the trade. I don't like either Vin or Moochie but I guess this was the best deal that we could have gotten. I was very frustrated with Mo and I'm glad he has been traded. This year he couldn't bring offense off the bench unlike last year. It was time for him to go.
So, to wrap up today... Gaines + TE + 2nd + Taylor for James + Baker + Moochie So, we get rid of non-playing assets, lose only one 2nd, get rid of Strickland and Taylor's contract. CD YOURE THE MAN!!!!
I think he's implying that he will continue to improve even more. He will be a great force than he his now.
