http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1998814 No 1st round pick guys---ESPN, and Chad Ford modified the first article. Its Mo Taylor --for Vin Baker, and Moochie Period. The 2 1st round picks will be from San Antonio.
As someone mentioned before...it is much easier to move 2 guys with smaller contracts than 1 guy with a large contract. Moochie and Baker will not be on this roster next season. I guarantee that 1 or both get traded in the offseason to someone who wants an expiring contract or they simply get released and the Rockets eat the contract.
No 1st round pick guys---ESPN, and Chad Ford modified the first article. Its Mo Taylor --for Vin Baker, and Moochie --- Period. The 2 1st round picks will be from San Antonio. The Knicks agreed to two deals before Thursday's NBA trading deadline to acquire Malik Rose and two No. 1 picks from the Spurs and forward Maurice Taylor from the Rockets. Both deals were awaiting league approval one hour after the NBA's 3 p.m. EST trade deadline and had not been finalized. The Knicks would send starting center Nazr Mohammed and backup point guard Jamison Brewer to the Spurs for Rose and the two picks, a first-round choice in 2005 that originally belonged to the Suns, and the Spurs' No. 1 pick in 2006.
Because the draft pick is not a future draft pick. It is a current draft pick. In other words you can not trade away 2 consecutive future draft picks. In other words you can trade all your first round draft picks every year as long as the pick being traded is in that year.
Hell, I'm confused...If its w/o a first rounder, then great deal, if it includes one, then that trade sux arse...
I feel so much better. We should have realized: NEVER trust Chad Ford over Carroll Dawson. Wow, finding out what we didn't trade makes me almost as happy as getting James.
610 now reports that, according to the Rockets, we get a #2 from the Knicks and we ARE NOT trading a #1
I just heard this same thing on 790am. We are NOT giving up a pick, but we are recieving a 2nd round pick. This has gotten final approval from the league, done deal. Great trade!
