This isn't Shandon Anderson who you knew sucked. This is a 2002 candidate for MIP. This is the Raging Bull. If you are going to overpay Cato, Moochie and MoT, you do not compound those mistakes by letting KT go. Here's what you do....don't use your MCE this year or next. Just stand pat and give the MCE money to your own players. That breaks even. The arguments to not keep KT because of Salary reasons are hogwash, especially since we will NEVER see cap room again for the length of Francis's contract. Sure, don't overpay KT, but if he'll take reasonable pay, he is worth it. He's not the one overpaid, like Shandon, Rice, Maloney, Pippen, Hakeem, Cato, Mo and Moochie.
Truth, Hey..you're the man. It's your thread, and you brought us a good one. But let me quote the 3rd post from you in this thread responding to who we should keep: <blockquote>Tough desicion. The question is who which one is willing to have their minutes cut down when Eddie emerges. I think Kenny wouldn't mind he just wants to be here , but I think Mo thinks he can be a superstar(not in a bad way) , so it would be harder for him. I don't mean to count the eggs before they hatch ( Eddie) but how can you deny that guy.</blockquote> So, what do you want to talk about?? Should we just let your thread die. I'm just glad we have one good thread going right now. And it is because...<a href="http://www.yourethemannowdog.com">You're the man, now</a> The Truth.
I'm up for a bet on this, no way even if he is slightly better than twit that he isn't an arseclownor at the least a tool, assuming he gets approval for a face to face meeting. Anyone want to bet Achebe isn't a twit???? Why would you trade Kenny now, his output (performance) greatly outweighs the input (salary), the dude proved last year that he is a player in this league, his work ethic is great and you get the impression he wants to improve all the time. What can you get in return for his pitence of a salary, some picks or another guy on a rookie salary or a veteran on a minimum salary. Mo will be showcased, Ming might even tap a few rebounds his way, he belongs in the east and surely someone has some expiring contracts they want to get rid of in return for the perfect LEastern Power Forward.
No way we let KT go. Even if Mo winds up being better than him, is there any reason for us not to have a deep rotation of 4's? Its not like we don't have room on the roster. KT has proven himself to be someone who can perform, why would we trade him, like HP and others have said, its just not worth it.
i know it's sounds like a bit nonsense, but i'll trade Mo.T,Rice,Cato,Collier for Lewis,Redd and Brad Miller!! in my opinion, they all take too much money ..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ PG Francis Norris SG Mobley Redd SF Lewis Nachbar PF Griffin Thomas C Yao B.Miller GO ROCKET!!!!!!!!!!!!
If I were Les, if the Rockets are on the luxury tax threshold next year (when Francis' extension kicks in), if paying KT 3-4 million per year puts the Rockets over the threshold, and if this causes me to lose $18 million per year because of that, I would let him go. http://www.realgm.com/src_gm_articles.php?artid=brave_world http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40743
To those of you that think KT will gladly reduce his minutes when Eddie becomes the man - ain't gonna happen. KT wants to be the starting four, problem is he doesn't have the size or strength to bang with the big boys in the west. Mo T is huge (and I don't mean fat), and he is strong as an ox. I know this first hand because I have worked the dude out. This guy is built like Malone. Unfortunately for us fans, he doesn't play like him. Does Mo T play a perimeter game - Yes. Does he need to improve his rebounding - Yes. Does he possess a tremendous amount of basketball talent - Yes. Hopefully for all our sakes he'll let his nuts drop and play like the monster he could be. If this guy had a mean streak he could easily avg 20 and 10 on a regualr basis, believe that. As for KT he has a lot of skills, but he is a hybrid 3-4. Quicker than most 4s and bigger than most 3s, and while this could present some match up problems for other teams, it could also cause us the same problems for us when he is in the game. As for who really likes being a Rocket - hands down Mo T. That is not to say KT doesn't, but Mo really likes it here. I think He would accept a lesser role before KT would.
Are you a stairmaster, or a treadmill maybe? Seriously, thanks for sharing. I never would have thought of him as *that * strong. If you work him out again, can you hypnotize him and convince him to go off this year?

You are expressing a huge multiple. You do not understand.
The article he posted explained how being a dollar over the luxury tax will end up costing you more than just that dollar in the end as you only get back a check from the league if you are under the luxury tax. Is this not true?
I've been a believer in Mo ever since I saw him get his career high 34 pts against Orlando a couple seasons ago. Anybody remember? He was absolutely unstoppable that game and his play rubbed off on the rest of the team. He was getting in the face of Mobley and Francis trying to hype them up. That was my favorite win by the Rockets with this group we have now and Mo T was the reason for it. Here the link to clutch's recap of that game: http://www.clutchcity.net/game.cfm?gameID=138
I agree. I don't thnk KT wants to be ball boy for MoT and When Eddie becomes the dominant Pf. He's just not big enough to bang.
KT has skills. If I coached the team, I would use him as one of the primary offensive weapons off the bench. I would post him up and use his quickness to punish the other teams 2nd team PF. Having said that, Mo T could certainly do the same thing, and again, I think he would handle being the primary scorer on the second unit better. Remember, he would often come out strong in the first half and end up on the bench for what seemed like the second of many games, I am not quite sure why though. Anyway, we never heard complaints from him about PT.
Bingo. If a team is over the luxury tax threshold, it could forfeit its $16 million redistribution check.
I think the idea of trading good players like MoT or KT is a mistake. The only reason you trade talented players, especially big men, is if you can get better talent or to get rid of a chemistry problem. As a fan if these guys will stay and play whenever they can help the team then keep em. Rice will go after next year and we can make some changes with his 9 Million +, it may be to resign KT who knows. Just look at the posibilities. First Unit Steve Cat Rice MoT Cato Second Unit Moochie Torres/Nachbar KT/EG EG/KT Ming I want to see these guys play so lets hold tight and see what happens. I am so pumped.
