Yup, waste. Dude had A LOT of talent. He was big and agile and had a good offensive game. But just like Eddie Griffen and Stromile Swift, he lacked heart.

Man, the Rockets suck at picking PFs lately. We haven't had a decent PF since Thorpe.

Horry was good at what he does, obviously, but he wasn't a particularly good rebounder and he definately wasn't a banger. In a sense, Horry lacked heart too ...until the playoffs came around. Then he was Mr. Heart.

It's refreshing that Chuck is playing like a real PF despite his lack of size.

Juwan Howard kinda plays w/ lackluster heart too but unlike Griffen and Swift, Howard is at least fundamentally sound.

Whoa...that Malik Rose video is bizarre. "The Heart of San Antonio." LOL. Did Malik make that himself??

It's amazing how some careers turn out. I'm sure Mo Taylor could care less - he's already got a fat paycheck. But the man did have some pretty sick offensive talent. His jumper was one of the best for a pf in the league, he had a good faceup game, good footwork, and a pretty strong back to the basket game when he really wanted to. I agree with heypartner - after his achilles blew out, he probably didn't have enough dedication to really make it back from that.

lets re-sign him after the Kings cut his ass :D

I am being silly of course. Waste of space , waste of talent, a black hole..and a drug habit to boot.

I only remember myself cheering for Mo T once...

Cheering when we pissed him off!!

i promise you that was a spurs fan. i doubt that is the only video of its kind either.

on top of being very unknowledgeable about basketball, the san antonio fans are really obsessive about the spurs. it is literally all they have going on in their town and their talk radio is domited by it. i live in austin, but work in san antonio 1 or 2 days a week and was driving around the day rose got traded. i am not exagerrating - PEOPLE WERE CALLING IN CRYING! about 95% of the calls were totally against the trade.

more than one caller claimed that without malik they wouldnt have won their titles. people were saying they were going to get rid of their season tickets. that the spurs management and popovich betrayed the city. malik was the heart and soul of the spurs. it was like most spurs fans had never heard of a player being traded before. it was all about how malik is such a great guy and how could the organization trade him. totally irrational.

most spurs fans were too ignorant to realize that they made the team better w/ the trade - malik was only playing about 15 minutes a game and not giving them a whole lot. they got a starting center in exchange for tim duncans backup.

popovich actually came on 1200 and 790 for an hour or so and took phone calls. basically damage control and trying to calm everyone down. it was pathetic. i respect the spurs, but their fans are morons. belive me, they are gay enough to make malik rose highlight videos.

nice slight to sir charles :D

wasnt horry the small forward when he was here? maybe slid over to the 4 from time to time, but the majority of him minutes were at the 3.

that was one hell of a defensive front line - dream, otis and horry.

horry had heart, i just think he was lazy as hell. it was so frustrating watching him sleep thru the regular season when you saw him play like an all-star in the playoffs.

Believe it or not, Mo Taylor actually had talent and unrealized potential. His downfall (besides mary jane) was due to his lack of professionalism and complete unwillingness to work hard at his craft.

But at least he had the Mo Betta Bunch...

Dude, San Antonio residents were calling in to local sports talk radio shows crying when he was traded. That guy was easily the most beloved athlete in SA since the Admiral...bizarre, but true.

EDIT: I see jo mama covered it. :p

I recall Horry walking down court in the '96 series against the Sonics. Walking!

In the next few months the Rockets would trade Horry and Cassell for the legend that was Charles Barkley.

Did Barkely ever come to camp even remotely in shape? Ohh nevermind. Oh yeah - 35 # over that's right.

It's hard to have heart when you have the kind of injuries that he did. Remember when he first signed with the Rockets? His entire goal was to make the Clippers regret negotiating with him the way they did, and he was hungry to become a good player. But with a combination of injuries and our depth (yes depth) at PF that year (EG was good enough that the board thought he should've being at the rookie/sophmore game and KT was just awesome at the time) really hurt both his playing time and his effectiveness on the court.

I think Mo-T had the ambition and the desire, but crumbled when the chips started to stack against him.
