ironically, T_J are my initials. lol! the character "LeGrouper" is not showing those qualities. in person, he may...i do not doubt this. many posters here have quite unsavory personalities online, but are very amicable face to face (from what i've heard).
One reason LeGrouper is getting so much flack is the manner in which he defended his position. LeGrouper personally attacked me when I came forward with this info about Maurice (BEFORE Eric did, I might add!). Batman came to my defense, but LeGrouper was a maniac. I am personally glad to see him get so much grief. It is one thing to have a position, another to attack people who bring viewpoints opposite to your own. --Ready2Go "Soap box exited"
LeGrouper: I don't even want you to stop posting. The first two times you offered the bet, I said the reasons I wouldn't take it were that (1) Neither of us knew if it was weed or not (even though you insisted you did know), and (2) I didn't want you to stop posting.. I also wasn't inclined to "rub it in your face" when you turned out to be wrong, until you showed up again in the thread which announced that the league had admitted a mistake only to say Mo was wrong again. More stubbornness. The real bet between us should have been that whomever was wrong would say so. When the info first came out (relatively early in the old, locked thread) that this might not be a weed bust, you took every opportunity to attack anyone who disagreed with your position. And every time, you attacked first. I ultimately don't even care if you ever say you were wrong about Mo (which you were), but to come in here after everything else you'd said to try and blame him again was lame. But whatever. Even though it is clear to me that you'd like to have made the bet and won it so that I'd stop posting, and even though your posts in this thread have had the usual, nasty tone toward me personally (inspiring me to revisit the bet), I'm really not trying to get rid of you. I think you've been downright awful on this particular issue, but on other stuff I've liked your posts. I've tried to make peace with you several times in the last week, but it's clear that's not going to happen. In the face of that, I'd happily settle for detente. p.s. To thegary: I know that talking about politics is "very unpunk." Far more punk to just roll your eyes and say everything and everybody sucks. Doesn't take too much effort -- just a neato haircut and some tattoos. I used to book a punk rock club, toward the endtimes of punk, by the way. But you're right (about me, at least). I ain't punk. Then again, as David Berman said, "Punk rock died when the first kid said, 'punk's not dead, punk's not dead."
Super. We're even then. derrock: Definitely. Props to Eric Riley. Also props to Ready2Go who broke pretty much the same scoop even earlier. Also to Feigen and Robertson, who suggested as much right after the suspension came down. This story was pretty much everywhere for anyone who was willing to listen. But thanks to Ready and Eric we got a lot more than the Chronicle gave us. Thanks again, guys. Keep em coming.
Well now we got Mo T back in the fold, the haters and the anti-mar1juana hysterics notwithstanding. Mo T is perhaps our best interview and I'm glad to see him back. Now, if we can just get Eddie back, making a new start from his depression ala Vin Baker and perhaps even our own Kelvin Cato, we will be ready to rock. The best way to see Eddie is a 10th -12 man who would have been a relatively young senior in college, this year, but he came out early, and has to pay his dues before he is really ready to compete with the men in the NBA. Every good dynasty can use the young talented guys gradually learning the game and pushing the vets.
Some of you guys are down right nutz...This entire thread has had me laughing my a** off today. Thanks. I'm am very pleased to have MO back in the line up. The last game he played was freakin nice! The way he has taken this was great too. He kept practicing with the team, they all had his back. Its these kind of mishaps that bring teams together in the end. Just think the next game he plays all the guys will have a little more to be pumped about because MO will be back. Shall we call it MO-tivation
The Rockets have not put Mo on their active roster. What are they waiting for? They have to release someone to make room for him on their roster, but they haven't done anything. Do you guys think he will play tommorow? Or do any of you know what the Rockets are waiting for?
This is great news to have Mo T back ... I really feel he is one of the best 6th men in the league right now, and a vital asset coming off the bench. While we are getting Taylor back, it looks like Portland is losing Bonzi Wells for a couple games due to suspension just in time for the Rockets game. Looks like we caught a nice break. Way to go Bonzi!! http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1664974
Welcome home, Mo. Bye bye to -- whom? My guess is Davis gets paid off or Ford goes to the side of the road. I'm guessing the former. When does the axe fall on the 17th roster member?
Is this the end of the line for Alton Ford? I'd rather they release Amichi because he has yet to get into a game!!
Who's to say that it still wasnt' weed? Maybe they simply reduced his suspension? I hope it wasn't weed, but they can't say, so who knows? IF it was a mistake, I would think that they would at least be able to say so, to prevent tarnishing MO's image..from the league at least. Welcome back MO!
TECH: Read the following from the Chronicle. Indicates that the league did, in fact, make a mistake and also explains why they didn't apologize. People keep asking why, if Mo wasn't guilty of a weed violation, he didn't say so publicly. He was not allowed to do so, nor does the league ever admit fault on this stuff. But they did overturn the suspension and he's getting his money back. Neither of those things would have happened if this was his fourth weed bust. The only mystery to me is why people are so set on this being a weed thing when there is zero reason, at this point, to think it is and many reasons to think it isn't.
