I don't think we can offer anything them except picks. We have 4 core players (JGreen/Sengun/Bari/Tari) and 2 back-ups(KJM/TyTy). Other players has no trade value. We won't let our core players to go and KJM+TyTy have no place in current Magic game plan. If we add another team to trade and send Ego+someone to Suns and Magic get some Suns player is another story.
Look at this point we should be CHURNING through players until we get ones we want..... Bamba is better for us than Tate or Christopher, and the Milwaukee pick is a waste of time as we will have 8 FRPs on the roster at the same time with our pick next year....you can't develop that many at once, we need to churn some players out. DD
I keep hearing we want a good defensive rim protecting big. But where’s the evidence that’s who Mo Bamba is?
That is a good question, I would say: 1. Sengun 2. Green 3. Jabari 4. KPJ 5. KMJ 6. Tari That's probably it... DD
Agree. And I wonder why opponents often have a field day making threes when they play the Rockets. They also have a field day scoring off of the Rockets' turnovers. So, maybe, the major issues are not rim protection but rather, perimeter defense and careless ball handling.
No need to wonder, you can see this crap literally every game. Watch what the off ball defenders do on any defensive possession. Our defense isn't just bad, it's plain stupid. They play defense like 2nd graders. Our wing defenders literally leave their assignments to chase the ball. If anyone dribbles past them they'll completely abandon the corner to gamble on a steal that they'll never get. If the opponent swings to one side of the court, all 5 of our guys will be on that side. We double team for no reason. We gamble for no reason. We put our hands on the offensive players for no reason. There is no structure whatsoever to the defense.
Tate just himself is a better basketball player than Bamba, and you want to throw in JGup and a first. You could get a guy as good as Bamba with that Milwaukee pick if your reason for the trade is adding a backup 5.
I would give Christopher and Tate for MoBamba and A 2nd rounder and that would work. MoBamba would give us a backup center, shot blocker and three point player. We need to get a veteran PG to work with the young players for the 2nd half. I still want to lose for a high pick in May but we need development
Just give Garuba consistent playing time and good things will happen. We don’t need Mo Bamba. We have the same skill set maybe better (add passing too).
Mo Bamba? Why trade for him… if the Rockets ask the Magic nicely, the Magic will probably just give him to Houston.
