Those were some great muffalettas! I used to tear those up at least once a week when I was working downtown. Last year I happened to be downtown again for an interview I think, and I was so dissapointed to discover they no longer served the Muffs. I've had the muffaletta's at Ragin Cajun. Although they're good, they aren't nearly as good as Treebeard's was.
My fav is the Reuben from anywhere...The best I had was in Vegas at the motown cafe (not there anymore)... I like Subways Steak and Meatball subs...At Hooters, I love there Ham and Cheese...
Good call, the Hooters ham and cheese is pretty damn good. Oh, I just thought of another favorite. Ham and Swiss on Rye from Neilson's Deli. If you've never been there it is worth checking out. It's a little family owned deli off of Richmond Ave, I think they've been there since the 60's.
please dont leave us hanging. specifics are demanded as soon as you get them. I ate lunch at Earl of Sandwich in Sugarland today. Opened 2 weeks ago. Clemens and Nolan have part ownership in it and they brought it down here from Orlando or something. Decently good. Quality roast beef. Nothing spectacular though. would eat there again, but wont be rushing back.
Best gyros ever...go to Fadi's mediter. and order a chicken shawerma (gyro) or beef shawerma, finger licking good
You need to check out the chicken shwarma at Shwarma King, Hillcroft at Richmond. Best in the city of Houston.
There are a couple good places around the bellaire/chinatown area: Don's Sandwiches: Heading Beltway 8 N, exit bellaire and turn right, Don's will be on your left hand side a block after you pass Corporate. Heading 59 N, exit Bellaire and turn left. It will be on your right hand side after you pass St. Agnes/Strake Jesuit school. Lee's Sandwhiches: It's at the intersection of Bellaire and Boone. Heading Beltway N, exit Bellaire and turn left. It's the next block after you pass Wilcrest.
It's probably the best and worst thing I have ever eaten. A fried sandwich topped w/ powdered sugar and served w/ grape jelly, absolutely delicious and terrible for you at the same time. I use to get it at Bennigans all the time but I have tried to steer away from it as of late.
If you've never had the Reuben at Kahn's in the Village, you're doing yourself a disservice. Anyone know of a great sandwich shop in Montrose? I's hungry.
4 Pages of Sandwich talk and not 1 mention of the FRENCH DIP?!?! Ooh I can see myself dipping one in the Au Jus as we speak.
This isn't my favorite sandwich but I'll throw it in with the list of other interesting sandwiches. There's a few bars in Minneapolis that sells a thing called the "Juicy Lucy" its two quarter pound hamburger patties with American cheese between. The patties are pinched at the edges and grilled its served with grilled onions on a kaiser roll. You have to be careful eating it or else the molten cheese squirts out.
Beefeater @ Jason's Deli Turkey Bacon Club @ Schlotzky's Chicken Bacon Ranch @ Subway Texadelphia Cheesesteak
There are tons of banh mi places on Bellaire. I don't think it matters where you go. I don't think they can screw up a sandwich. I don't like pho Reminds me I forgot to buy a bottle of sriracha
Wow. Yeah, I've eaten there, as well. My favorite was the burger stuffed with cream cheese and jalepenos.
