Between Thompson's woosiness and Kimbo's exhaustion, that fight was going to end in that round regardless. I thought Kimbo was having a heart attack afterwards. Geez.
CBS and XC whatever had to **** their pants...Kimbo should stick to street fights cause in MMA he is all hype. The first time the ref pulled Thompson off I said to myself the fight is rigged. The only way to beat Kimbo is to get him on his back and wear him out.
true but i think kimbo was going to finish it that time. it was a horrible stoppage but i also think cbs may have wanted to be extra cautious as evidenced by the lawler/smith stoppage.

I'll admit it I was wrong about the length of the fight but it was pretty obvious that the length of the fight was due to the general crappiness of both fighters rather than the fight being prolonged because of skillm which was kinda my point. I'll also admit that you are 100% correct. What you've watched for the past 2 hours is no different from a security tape of 2 middle shcool girls pulling each others hair. On a similar note, maybe you can post a video of two fat kids fighting over a cupcake and sell it as Kimbo vs Colossus II. That'll absolutely work because fighting is fighting. You need to watch Kelly Pavlik fight next Saturday on HBO. By far my favorite boxer these days. His fights never dissapoint.
Kimbo will meet his match soon enough. I'd like to see someone besides an out of shape white boy with reaction time as quick as an aging panda bear fight Kimbo.
I have tried to get into MMA....I am sorry I just fail to understand whats so thrilling about sporadic uncoordinated punches, occasional flailing kicks that seldom find their marks..followed by 3 minutes of someone trying to twist someones arm and an unnatural angle and make them tap out. And before someone says the inevitable...no I don't think I could handle any of these guys...still doesn't mean I want to pay to watch it like I might a good Championship boxing match.
nah the 1st time was a good time to stand them up. the 2nd time in the 2nd round when thompson was on top of kimbo was bs. they didn't stand them up but the ref kept saying he was going to stand them up if there was no action. thompson was clearly in a dominant position and was peppering kimbo with light shots. that made me kind of wonder but i am going to give them the benefit of the doubt. either way kimbo was winning the fight and he didn't look completely terrible. the dude still has a ton of work he needs to do. i was at least expecting his conditioning to be better but it was still the same. that was pretty disappointing.
if you want to watch some great mma fights then watch versus network tomorrow from 8-10pm. the main event will be 2 featherweights urijah faber v. jens pulver. it should be a great great fight and much better than anything elitexc puts out.
