One thing that has pissed me off is my baserunners missing homeplate. It has happened twice now. The Catcher did a good job at swiping, but didn't tag him. BUT my guy ran right by homeplate. Then he had to turn around and go back and tough it.....but ofcourse was tagged out. Maybe that is set in the realism options somewhere. Morgan Ensberg has been my hottest hitter.
ok i started a new dynasty because i really dont like the situation the astros are in after the season. So i went with the Tigers. To be more realistic i signed Pudge which is a Free Agent at the beginning of the year but should be on my team. My main focus is the future. I have kept a very close on my minor league system and made a lot of crucial trades. One thing that is awesome is you can get the Astrodome and all of the retro jerseys. I even got Phil Neikro and put him on the Astros for an Exhibition game. Did you know you can use the great players in your dynasty? playing the homerun showdown mode has really helped my hitting. i havent tried the pitching showdown yet. This game has so many features its amazing because i havent even been able to use them all
I own the pitching showdown, but my hitting on the homerun showdown sucks. Funny thing is I can hit fine in a normal game. It must be somethign about the split screen. I have already beaten Clemens Pedro and a couple of others. Use the Mets batting order and pick a good pitcher and you'll ahev no problems.
the thing that pisses me off is pitching. For whatever reason i can't pitch. I had one game with Oswalt where i gave up 3 earned runs and ended up losing thanks to a fielding error. That has been my best pitched game so far. I gave up 6 with Pettitte, and Clemens didn't fair any better. I don't know what to do. I throw my pitches in the corners barely hitting the strike zone and guys still find ways to hit the ball in the gaps. Fastballs, sliders, curves, and split fingers, all end up with the same result, even when the power/accuracy of the pitching meter is dead on.
I think you have to add them under the roster section. You can add them as free agents. You can also use them in Dynasty mode. there is a setting that allows unlocked players to show up in the FA pool.
Just got into my first brawl.Was playing the Cardinals and Chavez was hit by Marquiz and charge the mound.He got ejected,next inning,Miller hit Renteria on a Freaking Changeup,and he charges the mound.Miller ends up getting toss,not Renteria and I end up losing the game.Now after the game,I find out that Chavez is suspended for 6 games.Theres gonna be some head hunting next time we play the Cardinals.
If you are having a problem with hitting etc, you can change the settings to make it harder for the computer to hit etc. It's in the gameplay setting. There are the meters for like everything for both the user and cpu. Switch some of those meters aroud till you get used to pitching. I have had 2 shut outs now. My Oswalt opener was a shutout, and Pettite. Clemens had 1 unearned run. Then my other games were much closer. Then I killed the Brew crew.
Just played the game... after playiing it, i just decided I may end up buying a game console to play it on... sweet. im addicted, and my friends might wanna play themselves, so ill just buy an xbox. YAYAYAYAYYAYA.
Nah,just showed the batter charging the mound,and everybody running up and they cut it away.Dont really know what purpose does it serve,maybe it will boost team chemistry,or kill it. What level are you playing on uprising.Pretty good pitching numbers.
ANyone else notice that Garth Brooks is in the Royals system? I saw him the other day but did not realize he was actually with the team in Spring Training.
ok, there are a few things; im stressing few, that i think could be improved. 1. Graphics- More player detail, and better Create-a-player options. For once can a game put as much detail into the fans as they do the stadium. I want to see the drunken bleacher bums at Wrigley, Ya know? 2. Spring Training Mode- I wish they would use the actual Florida or Arizona Stadiums. 3. Chemistry factor- I think it is an ingenius feature, but a little overstressed. You would think someone was having mood swings from PMS. 4. Coaches- More imphesis on the coach. Its coll that included them in the game. I would like to see you be able to create your own coach and start them from the minors. Build a staff of bad-good-great scouts. Batting and Pitching coaches you can fire would be great wouldn't it? 5. Commentary- Better commentators, maybe Joe Buck and Jim Deshaies. I really wish they would put different announcers for the different teams. But overrall i give MVP Baseball 2004 a 9.2 out of 10. I will make another post about the strong points of them game later.
I like the game a lot, my main gripe is graphics. The gameplay is unreal. I love it. The graphics aren't bad. But I hope they will be much better next year. When, they started this brand new game last year and have built a great game. Now it just needs to be polished.
Anyone know the release dates for all the major games, I know MVP baseball is already out, I own a Gamecube and a PS2, though I'd prefer to get the game on Gamecube. I'm most interested in the game by Espn and Sega which isn't released till April 15th, I'm also moderately interested in batting, I prefer swinging with timing as opposed to moving that little cross thing.
I have been playing the shiznit out of mvp 2004. I love the fact that you have many choices of diving jumping climbing the wall etc. Just brings a lot more excitement to the game. Has anyone noticed that Adam Everret can really smash homers on this game? My main problem so far is I tend to overthrow to 2nd when the opposing team is stealing. One time heading into home the catcher bent down to catch the throw home I was able to basicallly hit him on the back and I knocked him down. This game is kicks a**.
EVERYONE hits homers on that game. I had to adjust the sliders after I was was hitting 6-7 HR's a game on th MVP setting.
