I know you are a religious man, wouldn't want to be the cause of you straying away from the righteous path....;)

Lost in all of this is that John Lackey has all but signed a contract with the Red Sox. His contract is supposedly a *little* better than the one that A.J. Burnett signed with the Yankees last season. If they can keep all their starters healthy, you have a rotation of Beckett-Lester-Lackey-Dice K-Buchholz or Wakefield. The first 3 are outstanding and if Dice K can come to camp in shape and condition, then it probably doesn't matter who is the #5 starter.

There are some indications that the Sox are going to trade Buchholz and others for Adrian Gonzalez and move Youk to third full-time. Left field might be a platoon system with Hermida and Mike Cameron (!) But we will see, there is still a chance that Holliday signs with the Sox. One thing is for sure is that Jason Bay is gone. Don't be surprised if he winds up with the Mariners or Giants. If he signs with Seattle and they have Cliff Lee as well, then I think you would have to make them the favorites to win the AL West.

Kind of you. The Bible does say "Thou shalt not steal" and if you took that bet it would be certified robbery by Max.

There is one hitch in your plan for the Red Sox. Mike Cameron is black.

I'm not saying that Boston is a racist town that would be opposed to welcoming a black player in with open arms...I'm just saying.

Well his name has been mentioned as one that they would get if they decide not to deal with Borass on Holliday. But there were some others as well but he was the one that stood out to me. And you make it sound like that Boston is looking at Cameron as a savior; he's not - he's a stopgap measure. Hopefully, if they do decide to do this, then Hermida will progress to being an everyday player. Some Sox fans think he already has but I am not sold on having him as my every day LF.

Maybe Mike Cameron can change his name to a Latin one like Miguel Castaneda.

Getting an Irish name helped Troy O'Leary gain residence in Red Sox Nation

    From Rosenthal's twitter...

Ken_Rosenthal #Phils getting $6M from #Jays in Halladay deal. Drabek, Taylor, likely D'Arnaud to TOR, Aumont, Gillies and 3rd player to PHI...

Phillies come out looking GREAT in this deal while Seattle gets its 1-B pitcher to go with king Felix and Toronto gets three stud prospects. Win-Win-Win???

Phillies getting a steal imo. 6 mil, Halladay, and prospects! Toronto gets its prospects, Seattle just gets Lee.

And as for Mike Cameron as some were talking about, he is indeed going to Boston.

This is a move clearly motivated by Lee's soon-to-be free agency status. Basically you swap one Cy Young pitcher for another only Halladay gets locked into an extension as part of the deal.

they're the team improved the most by this trade. that rotation would be awesome in the playoffs.

SERIOUSLY doubt Bay goes to Seattle unless he takes a gigantic pay cut to go to his "home". He doesn't fit in at all with what the front office is building.
