I tried to change my email, but then I never got the confirmation email, so now my account is locked. This is the account I made when I lost that HeyPee small forward bet.

nothing happened to him healthwise... just that the d'backs lost again...

first johnson gets strung up, than schill gives up 7 hits (but he played much better than he has in the past month)... looks like the party is over in AZ...

Yea, I caught most of the last 3rd of the game.

Schilling pitched a great ballgame, but Chuck Finley pitched a greater game.

Anyway, Quinton McCracken (who was signed to a minor league deal at the beginning of the season) came up huge with a double in the bottom of the 8th that tied it.

Unfortunately, in the top of the 9th, Koplove gave up the winning run with one out and a runner on 2nd. Then in the 9th, the D-Backs were 1-2-3 against Izzy.

Without Gonzo, this team simply cannot score runs.:(

Oh and where in the hell was Erubiel Durazo?? I think he would have been a better choice or even David Dellucci would have been better to pinch-hit in the 9th instead of Chris "F*cking" Donnels.

That should tell you how bad the offense is when you have to rely on guys like Mark Little, Donnels, and McCracken, etc. (even though McCracken has had a good season for him).

The D-Backs are on life support literally right now.

Yet, I won't be upset to see the Cards beat the D-Backs. They have an awesome line-up led by Edmonds, Pujols, Rolen, and Drew. However, if they can win not only this series but the World Series for #57, DK, then THAT will be a story that all baseball fans (well except for Yankee fans) will enjoy.

Oh, from the way announcers were talking, it sounded like something had happened. Hrm.

I'm shocked, absolutely shocked, that Scott Rolen got hurt. He's been such the Ironman throughout the rest of his career. Hmmm, lets see: bad back, bad knee, bad shoulder - I know! I'll sign him to an 8 year $90M guaranteed deal & **** up the FA market just 1 month after pleading poverty & narrowly avoiding a work stoppage. I sure hope Jeff Kent & every other FA with decent numbers sends Walt Jocketty a Christmas card.

    Go Twins!!!

I hope they can make it to the series. I still remember 1991 watching them beat the Braves in 7 games. Jack Morris, Kent Hrbek, Kirby Puckett, Scott Erickson, Chuck Knoblauch, Kevin Tapani, Paul Sorrento, Shane Mack, and Chili Davis. Good times!

The announcers made in interesting point in the game yesterday...Pujols will be arbitration eligible in a year or two...and with the numbers that guy has put up, he is going to get a huge raise. I kind of hope he doesn't pull a Lance Berkman and take a deal where he is paid less than he is likely worth, because it would make me as giddy as a schoolgirl if they lost him because they gave Scott Rolen a huge contract.

Just a thought. Why not void all contracts, pool all the players together and start over with a brand new draft and a HARD salary cap?

I would totally start watching MLB again if they did this...

I know I am in fantasy land...

J.D. Drew is arg-eligible again this year (he signed a 1-year deal before the season). Given that he has chronic patella tendonitis (possibly a degenerative condition, noboby really knows), will be recovering from surgery in the offseason, and had a poor year I'm not sure how much he'll get. Hopefully the Cards sign him for 8 years as well.

I've tolerated Tony Gwynn's performance this week b/c he was one of my favorite players...

but this line was just too funny...

Tony: "The Twins need to score some more runs here. They did that in the last game and won..."

i did a double take at my TV when I heard that and just started laughing... :D
