The sad thing is, the amount of people rooting for the Yankees to lose is probably 100 times greater than the amount of people who want them to win. Hey, they bring that upon themselves, though. Serves them right...
Hampton was part of a salary-clearing trade (had one year left on his contract and Drayton knew he couldn't pay him after the season). Caminiti left for Texas the second time via free agency.
the day has arrived for Barry Bonds to prove his October worth. I think he'll finally shut the naysayers up! (since I'm one of those naysayers, I'll be very quiet today)
Revisionist history. The 'Stros tried to talk extention. Hampton said he would wait to test the free agent market after his deal ran out. 'Stros traded him instead of losing him for nothing. Colorado gave Hampton ridiculous contract. Great move by the 'Stros. I'm sorry, I thought you were talking about the non-broken-down-and-drug-addicted Caminiti. Who the hell cares that he left the second time as a FA? It had nothing to do with money.
Fine, replace Cammy's name with Alou then. The only point I'm trying to make here is that we have financial decisions to make when our players contracts are up. Oftentimes, we are forced to let good players go because we can't afford them.
man Glavine got lit up in the 4th... 4 consecutive hits 2x in this game? and the bullpen is getting ready... disappointing outing for tommy...
Baaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrry Baaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrry This is the only series I want both teams to lose. Punk ass Chippa and stylin Barry Bones. UGH!!
Anyone have a link to listen to the game? I know MLB has cracked down on internet radio, but some rinky-dink station has to cover this game! I've tried all ESPN radio stations throughout the country, but to no avail. Anyone know any tricks, loopholes, etc.? I'm bored at work.
anyone else sick of this stupid criss angel "mindfreak" promo that runs every 10 minutes??? it was funny hearing the announcers recite the promo and tony gywnn was like "i don't think i'll be watching that"... hilarious!
ahhh, nothing makes me happier than seeing the Braves losing in the postseason. Now if only the Yankees lose to the Angels, this has the potential to be the greatest postseason ever in baseball (not involving the Astros).
