I would have liked to see Percival in the 8th inning. This was a very important game. Had Anaheim won, it would have really put the pressure on the Yankees. Scoscia made a mistake -- now the Yankees have a lot of confidence and we have to listen to this "postseason magic" bull s*** in the media. puke. I hate the Yankees more than I hate the Jazz.

    Because he is a punk.

If I was Philly fan or Philly sports fan, i would chuck things at him. Tire wrenches, Tires, Hub cabs, bells.

    Start spreadin' the news.....

BTW, if you even cared to watch ESPN after the game, Peter Gammons gave insite. Percival has tried 4 1.1 inning saves all year, and he blew 2 of them. That being said....

The Yankees would have won regardless of Percival. They are that damn good. I think some anti-Yankee zealots should have caught on by now. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHO IS PITCHING. The only way you can beat them is if the pitching fails. These hitters are the best clutch hitters out there, and thats the only reason they are getting paid.

What really boggles my mind is the popularity of the Yankees. Every single team outside of New York has good reason to *despise* the Yankees for the way they have completely ruined MLB. Every GM in the league will tell you that the Yankees set pricing in the free agent market, as they are the team that can pay the most. This is a direct result of their local television contract revenue, a benefit bestowed upon them simply for being in New York. Because the Yankees set pricing for free agents, teams like the Astros and A's have to pay Yankee-style prices for their own players. They can't afford this, and thus must fill holes with either young players or cheap veterans. This is not the case for the Yankees. Virtually every position they have is manned by a current or former all-star. Many of these players were acquired through free agency, or lop-sided trades (Clemens, Mondesi, White, Giambi), but some are home-grown talent. The Yankees can afford to keep their own young talent by paying them big bucks -- teams like the Astros are forced to watch Kile, Hampton, Caminiti, etc, leave via free agency.

Why are the economics of baseball screwed up? The Yankees.
Why do medium-to-small market teams not have a chance at the World Series? The Yankees
Why did we almost have a work stoppage? The Yankees.

PUKE. They have completely ruined the sport and should be the villains of the league, not the heroes.
