Puma!!!!!!!!!! He totally struck out looking but... And I hate the Yankees. My desire to see Berkman succeed just trumps that.
I really hate when umps screw up and toss the manager, especially in post-season. Let him speak his mind and move on...sigh.
That blown call to Berkman could very well cost the Twins their season. More accurately, it greatly reduced their chances of winning this series at the moment.
He used the magic word. If he had just argued on his way to the dugout it would have been one thing, but he dropped the fbomb on him.
I'd agree with you if this was a reg season game in July but not in October, especially when there is a chance the ump was wrong. To intense a game to have a quick trigger finger even if he used the magic words.
Losing a manager isn't that big of a deal. If anything, Gardenhire probably wanted that to happen to fire up his troops. If it's a key player and a questionable call and they use a quick trigger, that's a little different. In the earlier game, Shoppach repeatedly screamed "Unf'nbelievable!" while staring right at the home plate ump as he walked to the dugout and the ump didn't eject him.
You know they had to be rooting hard for the Yankees to win the AL East and for the Rays to win the Wild Card instead.
Grassy court, eh? By the way, that was a bold statement you made when they were up a game and up 2 in the 7th in game 2 with the bases loaded and 1 out. The fact is that no matter how bad the Twins' recent history has been in the playoffs and specfically, against the Yankees, the future is full of surprises. Streaks of all kinds end. There is also a huge element of luck in this sport. Anything can happen until the last out is recorded.
Damn. Rodriguez or Cano should of ended this game with the bases loaded. Need more insurance runs just in case next inning! Big Puma, GREAT game, I was so excited when they got him and he's finally delivered.
BobKlap TBS turned off the live PitchFX graphic after it showed Wendelstedt missed strike 3 on Berkman. I suspect that wasn't a coincidence.
