Giants are reminding me more and more of the 2005 Stros with Cody Ross playing the part of Carlos Beltran.

Why bring Oswalt on short rest here? They are not in do or die situation right now.

 

I don't like this move either. I think you put Lidge in this spot.

 

I think it's his day to pitch on the side anyway - so instead of pitching a session in the bullpen, they get an inning or two out of him in the game. I think the idea is to keep Lidge for any potential save situation, while Oswalt might go a couple of innings if they go smoothly (which this one isn't doing).
