Wow, really? I mean I hope he doesn't and Lee doesn't strike me as a Yankee but that will be a LOT of money to pass up.

I think the Yankees are giving up, should've had Rivera in the game

I'd say the landing place of Lee is as follows.

    1.Yankees
    2.Rangers

    3. Anyone else

    Cliff Lee's updated 2010 postseason numbers: 3 games, 24 IP, 13 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 34 K, 0.75 ERA, 0.58 WHIP

    34/1 BB/K

    0.58 WHIP

He makes a lot of money already.

He already had a payday with his extension and If Texas actually wins this series why would he want to deal with NY?

I think he has Yankees written over him. I think he goes to the highest bidder which will likely been the Yanks. He is boys with CC as well.

Just my thoughts based on everything I've heard... anything can happen but even if they win the WS, I have a feeling he'll end up elsewhere.

What payday? He only makes like 9 million this year. He is going to get some where around 6 yeasr, $140M if I had to guess. There is a reason he didn't sign an extension with the Phillies, M's, or Rangers. He wants to keep his options open.

Sorry, haven't really followed the Yankees... why don't they have any confidence in AJ?

Do you ever think back to CC, Lee and Carmona and shake your head as an Indian fan?

    NY pays better
    History of wearing the pinstripes
Not to mention you are almost 100% of the time making the playoffs every year.

Not to mention if the Rangers sign Lee that greatly effects their ability to resign some of their current players in the near future.

The last time the Rangers gave out an albatross contract it didn't end well (Alex Rodriguez).

If Lee takes them to the WS and continues to pitch this well then he did all that they could of asked of him.

Pretty horrible this season, wasn't even on the ALDS roster. They have ZERO confidence so a quick hook will be expected.

    Huh?

He's made peanuts compared to other elite pitchers. I watched this guy from his early days as an Indians fan. He had a very late breakout relative to other elite pitchers and will almost assuredly cash in to the last dime at this point.

Bingo! He's gonna cash in big time. His agent will get every last dollar he can for him.

I don't blame him. Like you said, he really hasn't got paid the money elite pitchers make and he is 32. He is good friends with CC from their days with the Indians. Most teams won't give a 32 year old a 6 or 7 year deal but I doubt the Yankees would have 2nd thoughts.

I don't blame him, either. The Rangers will have no regrets at this point. Both they and Lee will be content no matter how things end.
