The good news is that Lee is at 97 pitches through 6. Lee is usually getting more contact outs. All the Ks have increased his pitch count.

The other good news is that Hamilton's last ball in play was a few feet short of the wall.

2-0 with Lee unlikely to go more than 7 means this game is far from over for this Yankee offense.

I'm still gonna give you props for that first prediction.

I didn't say it but I thought Pettitte was gonna have a rough outing (before the game even started).

Pretty typical for the Yankees to work the pitch count. Kinda the anti astros in that regard.

Pretty much every team is the anti-Astros in that regard.

Just wait til next season with Puma not around. He's been our single elite OBP guy for the last several years.

    Cliff Lee's 2010 postseason: 3 games, 23 IP, 13 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 32 K, 0.78 ERA, 0.61 WHIP

Well if he can pitch another 120 post season innings and during that time lower his ERA by 30% he will be almost as good as Rivera.

Oh, I wasn't getting in on that discussion. Was just highlighting Lee's performance, which I actually updated since you responded to that post. He's only given up 13 H, not 14.

Man the Rangers really have been in control of this series.

Minus that mess up in game 2 they have dominated.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Yanks pull one out tomorrow though even with Burnett slated to pitch.

If the Rangers do unfortunately make it to the WS I don't think they match up well against the Phillies.

Halladay/Oswalt/Hamels is still just to filthy, and that Philly offense can erupt when needed.

If the Yankees can't win this game, they will definitely have a tough go of it. Some would argue that they have to win the next 3 straight even though that's not a fact.

Rivera's a closer, the most he can go is 3 innings. Its really hard to compare a starter to a reliever.

    he's back out there

He has such an easy, repeatable delivery.

Damn in a way I want the Astros to sign Cliff Lee this season just so I can see him pitch in person.

But that type of contract is exactly what we don't need right now :(

The Yankees better hope they take out Lee for the ninth for them to even have a chance.

If he Get's this 3rd out how can you NOT let him go back out?

If the Yankees add him after this offseason they might as well just give them the ALCS.

Yea, don't hold your breath for a lot of reasons. Not only would it be the last thing we want to do (same with Carl Crawford for those pining for him), Lee won't come here and he'll get much more elsewhere even if we did go after him (which Wade won't do for obvious reasons).
