No kidding... it's like night and day between the comments you see there and on The Crawfish Boxes. Those are some seriously vile fans. I saw another blog where some guy wrote an article about Ed Wade that was well beyond cruel and over the top. Philly fan culture is just something else. I suppose it's just Philly culture in general.
And now a run for Roy O. He was almost casual halfway down the line, as if he wanted to make it more exciting.
Wow Oswalt with some aggressive base running. He runs right thru that stop sign and scores. You won't see pitchers do that very often.
I actually had it on mute. I didn't realize he ran through a stop sign. Fearless, I tell you. Absolutely fearless!
Roy had that bad start right off the bat after the trade. He had been traveling that day or something (can't recall exactly) but it definitely wasn't a great first impression. After that, he went on an epic stretch that hadn't been seen in like 100 years for a pitcher coming to a new team. Then he had that rough outing against the Reds last time out where Phillips got to him right off the bat and his command was shaky throughout. It's good to see him follow that up with this all-around performance.
What kind of bugs me about both of these championship series is that I'm pulling for teams that I generally dislike, particularly in the case of the Yankees. On top of that, I like the Giants and was pulling for them all year once I knew the Astros were done but before the Oswalt trade. I worked in the area for a year and a half and followed them a bit. I'm also a fan of Cliff Lee as a lifelong Indians fan and usually always root for whoever is playing the Yankees. I guess that if Lance or Roy, or both, don't advance, I can at least enjoy something about one or both of the other teams being in the WS.
