Tonight Padres @ Rockies to determine NL wild card - it's on TBS 6:30 central. i want the rockies to win but im a big fan of power pitchers so im pumped for this game. NL: wild card vs. Phillies Cubs vs. D'backs AL: Angels vs. Red Sox Yankees vs. Indians i like all the series except wish it was astros instead of cubs. i would like to see Indians vs. rockies finale but unlikely. dont mind as long as the cubs, red sox, and yankees lose.
Padres win Wild Card. Phillies over Padres. Cubs over Dbacks. Red Sox over Angels. Yankess over Indians. Cubs over Philles. Yankees over Red Sox. Yankees over Cubs.
I hate baseball, but as a diehard Browns/Cavs fan, I might tune in to catch a few innings of the Indians.
i know a guy who knows a guy. seriously. nothing definite...but i can tell you that the rockies are pretty convinced the yankees will offer him money nowhere near what they can offer.
The only reason this game is tied is because of a couple of the worst calls I've ever seen (the home run that was taken away, and Helton when he was safe at first). Embarrassing performance by the umpires in such a meaningful game.
Atkins crushed a ball to deep left in the bottom of the seventh... hit either the top of the wall (the padding above it) or a chair right behind it and bounced hard... somehow, umpires ruled it a double because a fan (clearly behind the wall) touched it. Atkins ended up stranded.
Atkins double or w/e bounced off the yellow line... looked like the right call to me. i thought holliday was under contract through the 2009 season.
he's arbitration eligible in 2009. i think the thought is that he would be traded sometime during next season. maybe during the offseason following. but that he would not be in denver for much longer.
