He would have finished the perfect game in only 83 pitches if not for the blown call. He still only threw 88 pitches to get 28 outs. Amazing.
I feel so bad for that kid. As a baseball fan this might be one of the best things that could happen though. If dumb ass MLB decides to implement instant reply on the basepaths it will be worth it. (Even though it will always suck for Galaraga)
i honestly think they are going to somehow overturn it, but it doesn't really matter, the moment was completely ruined.
I went through that phase but quickly decided he didn't deserve it. I was starting to compare him to Bartman in terms of having to face public ridicule and be escorted out of the stadium.
Kind of off the subject, but is anyone else loving this MLB.TV on PS3 with all these great pitching performances?
Man, i'm just so pissed about this - I see the CF thread, flip it over to ESPN... then the amazing catch in center. Then the grounder to first... will Galarraga get there in time........ YES!!! Wait, WTF !? We've been robbed being a part of history.
was my prevailing thought as well, but the guy literally just ruined his life. he isn't a criminal, just a moron (understatement) ump who has to cope with this for the rest of his days.
hmmm, turns out he is. Here is the link http://bleacherreport.com/articles/400462-jim-joyce-a-criminal-in-blue
