Round Rock averages 9000+. That isn't much lower than Florida gets.

MLB On Pace to Break Another Attendance Record

    Written by Maury Brown
    Thursday, 06 September 2007

MLB has announced that eighteen different Clubs are within 7.0 games of a postseason berth through Labor Day, and attendance is 4.0 percent over the same date during the record-setting 2006 season, Major League Baseball announced today.

A total of 67,294,457 fans have attended through 2,054 dates this year, averaging 32,763 fans per game. At the same point in the record-setting 2006 season, 64,704,768 fans had attended, averaging 31,502 per game. MLB has set cumulative single-season attendance records for three straight years (2004: 73,022,969/30,401 per game; 2005: 74,926,174/30,987 per game; 2006: 76,042,787/31,423 per game).

“September promises to be one of the best months that we have ever had,” said Baseball Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig. “There are great races for the postseason and compelling events throughout baseball as we head down the stretch, and clearly, the excitement on the field is being enjoyed by fans in record numbers.”

The total of 18 teams within 7.0 games of a postseason berth has been matched only three times in the previous 11 years (1996, 2005 and 2006):

Football isn't slow? A 10 second play followed by 30-40 seconds of inactivity with a television break following every score, a break inserted once each half that was kept specifically for television just in case there weren't enough commercials during the game, and periodic stops for challenges and play reviews. If that isn't slow, I don't know what is.

At least baseball has been slow paced since the beginning. The NFL pretty much made football a slow paced game.

    Written by Maury Brown
    Sunday, 29 July 2007

Following the second highest attendance day in history just one week ago Saturday, Major League Baseball drew 717,478 fans to its 17 games yesteday, making it the most well attended single day in baseball history. The 17 games attracted an average of 42,205 fans per game.

Previously, the highest attendance in a single day occurred on July 3, 1999, when 640,412 fans attended 17 Major League games. Last Saturday, July 21st, 639,628 fans turned out for 16 games, which had been the second highest total prior to yesterday.

Major League Baseball remains on pace for a fourth consecutive year of record-breaking attendance. Through yesterday’s games, 49,999,879 fans had attended games thus far this season at an average of 32,258 fans per game. Attendance through yesterday’s games is running 4.4 percent ahead of the total through the same date last season.

why do you think there's a 7th inning stretch?
people are just waking up from the sleeper hold that MLB put on them.
plus they are lying too, the Marlin's announced the attendance to 10k!

that's kinda my point. if they could sell more seats, i assure you they would.

they used to in detroit at the silverdome. they would put 50,000 in the seats for playoff games before they moved to the Palace. but it's not sustainable over a length of time...or with average teams.

LMAO at you jabronis who say baseball is "boring". I guess all of you are big fans of the X-Games.

Baseball is the only major sport where so much strategy is involved especially in the late innings. It is also the only sport where the manager/head coach can make a huge difference in the team winning (see Grady Little in the 2003 ALCS).

hating on individuals is different from hating on a sport that has cheaters, no parity, no salary cap, and stupid fights.

don't hate on miami cause they have better stuff to do than go watch some boring 12 inning game
