Two screens at the link. Mostly wanted to post that, but since the release is coming up pretty soon (March 4th IIRC), anything related to the release of the game might as well be posted here too I guess.

    Some trailers:

The Show has been great on PSP. Better than MLB 2K.

    That's not saying much unfortunately.

Nope, only Playstation (PS2, PSP, and PS3). 2K is the only publisher that would put out a baseball game on systems by Sony, Microsoft and/or Nintendo. Besides them, only Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo can make a MLB game, and they wouldn't release their games on their competitors' systems (in this case, Sony wouldn't release their game on the Nintendo Wii).

Crazy situation that is a bit complicated, especially since 2K publishes 3 different MLB games IIRC. It would be nice if MS did something with the High Heat IP, which I believe they own.

I LOVED High Heat. Not the greatest graphics, but played a very realistic game. I was sad to see 3DO go bankrupt.

EA doesn't have a MLB game, just 2K (as far as 3rd parties go).

They have the following baseball games for the Wii:
    MLB 2K8
    The Bigs
    MLB Power Pros

MLB 2K8 is a sim with realistic graphics. The Bigs is more of arcade-style game IIRC. Power Pros is supposed be an excellent sim from what I understand, although it uses cartooney graphics (think Wii sports). Only MLB 2K8 is confirmed for a 2008 release, but I'm guessing 2K will release updated version of the other two games later on in 2008 as well (maybe summer or fall?).

I, personally, would probably be most interested in Power Pros since I love the sim stuff, although I can't really say much since I've yet to play it (haven't even played any baseball games on the Wii, outside of Wii Sports).

Back OT, I think both (PSP and PS3) demos are online now.

Downloaded it today and finally played a game. Basically the same old game with better graphics. And this is a complement. :)

The gameplay doesn't seem like it's changed much, if at all. I really enjoyed the gameplay last year though, so I'm not really complaining. The graphics definitely got a big upgrade, and poor graphics was probably my biggest complaint about 07. It went from having some of the worst graphics to some of the best IMO. The new lighting has made a huge difference, and things like the detail on the uniforms look amazing (not to mention the cloth physics). It seemed like they improved on the animations from last year, which I thought were already pretty good. Commentary is pretty awesome as usual (make sense if they record over 12GB of commentary).

I thought it was funny because I started off the game with 3 runs, but then the AI responded with 3 runs of their own. We then proceeded to player another 7 innings of shutout ball, and I was (barely) able to pull out a win in the 9th. Kind of sucks that the demo doesn't let you use substitutions, but the AI can make them. I really needed to make a pitching change.

There's also a new video (I think?) that shows off some of the features he was talking about:

I thought I'd also post some pictures from the demo since I forgot to do that earlier:

Agreed. I cannot tell you how many full seasons I simulated on the Hight Heat games.. true, the characters made it look like Burn Unit Baseball, but the gameplay was as good as I have ever played.

Just ran into a weird glitch that seemed pretty funny. I was having a bad game and was really frustrated with my performance, so after reaching 1st base on a single, I took the turn for 2nd for a sure out just to end things. My player began running towards the outfield, being chased by Albert Pujols. Some crappy cellphone pics that are way too big:

Also had another glitch where it seemed like the game failed to load anything but the players, making it seem like we were playing in a black hole or something:

Fortunately, I haven't really run into any game-breaking glitches, just a few of these bizarre ones (more of them than I'd like, but they add a little amusement to the long seasons). I will say that the more I play it, the more I feel as though they really dropped the ball on some design choices (mostly on the RTTS stuff since that's basically all I play). I still love the game, but I'm not sure how anyone could have really thought that some the choices were a good idea, at least the way they are currently implemented (EX: strike out goals as pitchers, hit and run goals as hitters, playing as a catcher in RTTS, etc.).
