really you think Dwade who has a ring and is still 29 is going to say.....go right ahead King James, you handle the ball 33% of the time.

Dwade wants his legacy too and it ain't being a sidekick.

After all he is the one who stayed with his own team, he is already in the front of magizine covers, he defends LBJ. He is the leader and a leader doesn't need to dominate in stats, he just needs to organize his team and lead them to it (this can be vocal, locker, outside). LBJ is just his top bodyguard.

The media is going to eat this up.

How does this stat line look: 25 pts (50% from the field), 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 1 block.

    Pretty good, right?

Those are Scottie Pippen's numbers from Game 3 of the 1994 EC Semifinals. In that game, Phil Jackson drew up the last play for Toni Kukoc and because of that, Pippen refused to enter the game for the last possession.

    He quit.

The moral of the story? You don't have to quit the entire game to be a quitter. Scottie Pippen quit for less than 2 seconds and he was considered a quitter.

When I read the whole quiting/not-quiting debate, it reminds me that Shoeless Joe Jackson hit for .375 in the 1919 World Series...

No, I'm saying he'll be remembered as a lesser player because he'll never win a championship on a team that is built around him. You can say that Lebron will assume a role on the Heat similar to Jordan's on the Bulls, but I personally don't see that ever happening.

I'm not criticizing anything about Lebron's play thus far in his career. I think he's the most gifted player in the game and could have been possibly the best player of all time. However, I view winning with the Heat as they are currently constructed kind of like the Dream Team winning the Olympics...not very impressive. I'm more disappointed than anything else by this.

He's just not going to be required to contribute anywhere near what Jordan had to contribute to the Bulls' championships. So, I don't see how he'll ever be put at the same level.

I would like some more opinions on this post so im reposting.

I think most people say lebron wont live up to jordan I say lebron is taking a completely different route and trying to make a case where he is greater than jordan.

If lebron avg a triple double more than once, some how wins more than 6 championships and wins more MVPs than jordan, even with this stacked team can you really say that hands down his legacy isnt as great, sure he had a stacked team but he would have accomplished MORE.

b/c his stats aren't as overwhelming. if oscar robertson had 6-7 rings, he would be in the conversation.

jordan not only had the rings, he put up historic stats year in and year out.

lebron is the ONLY perimeter player to put close or on par to those historic numbers. he's just missing the rings.

thing is, lebron is a 2-time MVP, winning them in landslide fashion. he has separated himself from wade.

when you're a better player, you're a better player. simple as that.

it doesn't matter what wade wants. he has said publicly last year lebron is the most dominant player in this league, one we haven't seen since MJ.

so if wade admits that, why can't you?

    Your statement makes no sense.

If Wade wanted to be viewed as "the leader" he would have never asked James to come to Miami.

He would have done it the way everybody is saying LeBron should do it, by himself.

The bottom line is that LeBrons legacy will not be defined by what people think or feel about him today.

It will be defined by what he does on the court. The man has back to back MVP's -- Wade doesn't even have one.

LeBron is a better player than Wade and you better believe if they start winning championships, LeBron will be viewed as the "straw that stirs the drink" on the Miami Heat.

The guys skills are undeniable, thats why people are having this argument in the first place.

The only thing that matters in this league is winning rings. Period.

Not whose "the man", "whose team is this is", yadda, yadda. When they start winning rings all this tarnished legacy crap is going to dissappear.

honestly, i just can't see lebron averaging less numbers without something looking odd. He'd have to be less active, less involved, even a couple less pts, rebounds, and asst. It would be a lot easier to do that over a short series than the season...the magninfying glass may be larger, but it's not as constant. Just say you met your match and move on....during the regular season he'd start a whirlwind of rumors, from possibly injuries to him being unhappy in cleveland.

which goes with what ive been saying..."if" he did want to lose he'd do it then...too easy to just blame it on the celtics D, afterall theyre a legit team and have wont it all before.

what? Refusing to admit how important Robinson was? Where did that come from? if anything, i was pointing out how he was the center of the team. That's why i stressed the importance of having three point shooting on that team. Don't make up stuff like that unless you're quoting me. I didnt even come close to implying he wasnt important.

33% is what Elliot shot that year he was injured and missed games. He's a career 37.5% shooter and that 33% was the second lowest average his last 7 yrs in the league. He struggled his first 3 yrs or so in the league and then improved a lot, check the stats for more than one year next time please.

As for the increase in production by Purdue and Herrera, that's great and all, but you're not considering the effect it had on their depth. imagine if we lost hill, battier and hayes....sure guys like budinger, PP, and Da could step up their production, in fact they pretty much have to, since that usually happens with increasing playing time, but the guys who were your third stringers ar enow you're back ups? Are you telling me that makes the team as a whole just as good as when they were healthy?

Your point was that robinson being gone sank them to last place, which meant he made a HUGE difference...i said it wasnt just him being gone, but multiple guys in the rotation throughout the season and had they been healthy the team would have done a lot better even with Robinson being gone. That's not negated by you saying Robinson could have made a difference if he played and those guys didnt. It's just another way of looking at it or another possibility. It's like yao being out...we were a .500 basically and that would be close to the same as if we had Yao , but lost multiple other guys throughout the season.

So are you saying that Hakeem wasn't in the prime of his career during those years, when he put his whole repertoire together and was able to dominant the 1993-94 season as no one ever had? Hakeem was no ordinary big man and to compare his game at that age to the average big man shows the basis for your argument.

LeBron 3-14, 15 points, lost at home by 32, this was the game he quit.

    Mj is trolling.

He knows Lebron is the only guy who could outshine his talent so he's looking for any chance to say "See, he's not as good as I was!", just like the "kobe is better" statement.

    Kinda sad actually.

Mj was asked about it..its not like he posted it on twitter...and he also said it's an option they have now and its not something he would think about back then. The title is somewhat misleading as MJ never said he was disappointed, just that he wouldnt have done it back then.

it would depend greatly on how the stats and reponsibilities are distributed among the big 3...if Lebron is clearly the best player, puts up superstar numbers, is the crunch time guy, etc. then i think people will come around and consider him great, possibly better. however, it's just highly unrealistic that he'll win enough in that role to overcome what MJ did. He'd have to win like7 rings in 8 yrs or something...
