It is, which is why he isn't able to deduct it until there is some income to deduct it from.

no..........you want to be able to take advantage of this deduction right?

In order to do it, your hobbies or "Activities Not Engaged in For Profit" will have to be ones that have the potential for profit.

Romney said he'd pick his VP this competition since for some reason, he needed his wife by his side while making the decision. Wonder who it will be/ who won't turn him down like all the other relevant possible VP's have.

No.....you said I should pick up a hobby that has a potential profit to it down the road. I say, screw that, I don't do hobbies to make money, I do them for fun. I am never going to make money on kiteboarding. Could I claim all the equipment as a loss just in case I go pro and make tons of cash - sure. But really, that's super lame.

By the way, you fooled me. I only realized now you are Casey. Nice one.

it isn't lame, it is smart.

He will likely never make a net profit so why pay tax twice

    Not hard.

what gave it away sherlock? the massive bolded, disclaimer in my signature? the month old thread requesting a name change?

Only a dull boring loser actually thinks to save a few bucks on taxes for their hobby when they make 100's of millions of dollars. That's why it is lame.

Funny, i figured you'd make that comment, but I was like, let me leave it and see how predictable this guy is, and sure enough...there it is.

Anyway, to answer your question...I don't pay attention to everyone's sig bolded or not, disclaimer, fine print, badgering clutch for a name change, etc...hate to break it to you but you aren't the center of the universe and people don't pay attention to every aspect of your digital life.

It's too bad the name change didn't improve the quality of your posts. I was wondering what inane logic this new guy was pushing out. Now it all makes sense....new guy ha!

Sources indicate that Rafalca may have lost the USA a medal because Rafalca is GERMAN born and bred. :(

What's up with that? Outsourcing the privilege of representing the USA America to Germany? As if there are no prancing USA American horses that could have done a better job esp. with bad
    unemployment.

We can prance if you want to
You can leave your friends behind....

And you will be teabagging on the harsh reality of millions Americans who don't go without health care, of a foreign policy that actually makes logical sense, of a sensible immigration policy, of a non-regressive tax policy, of a federal judiciary that actually knows what the **** they are doing, rather than acting like a bunch of brainless zombies channeling undead antebellum spirits...etc.

...not that you actuallly deserve to be made better off by any of this, but sadly for fans of comeuppancenessitude, you and your spawn will be.

And for that, I say...you are MOST WELCOME.

    Ta-ta.

I suggest you canter off onto the sunset on the back of RAFALCA.

This is a topic worth debating. Should equestrian events be Olympic events?

I say no. In my opinion any sport where a human doesn't put most of the effort shouldn't be considered Olympic sports.

SOURCES indicate that the 3 medal position leaders after yesterday included:

    1 German rider;
1 German-born rider competing for Great Britain; and
1 British Born rider with a German coach.

with germany's top 2 riders yet to compete

    DEVELOPING....

Exactly, this horse isn't even American. It's a German horse.

What is Romney trying to pull here?
