REAL fans don't want a tank. Plus, it's a weak draft class anyways. I rather see the team do good so we can go into the offseason with our heads held high. Shame on you all for wanting the rockets to lose, even Clutch. All we need is a healthy Yao and TMac and we are title contenders. Regardless of where we are in the lottery, players do slip and gems are found in the rough. GO ROCKETS!! WIN EVER GAME LEFT!

On defense, Yao needs to practice his shot block skill. On offense, he needs to do more drives. Bottom line, please foul out in the third.

Has JWhaley come out of the woodwork to gloat? It's one thing to suggest tanking when the season is all but over (like now), but you started a tanking thread less than a month into the season. Moreover, every time we lost, you bumped that thread just to show everyone that you were "right."

I'll bet you've been rooting for the Rockets to lose this entire time so you could justify your premature tanking thread. Fans like you make me sick.

    1) Who can give the definition for real fans?
    2) Probabaly there are more rockets fans than "real fans".
    3) This draft class is weak because there are no top talent like LJ, Yao or D.Howard, but what we are looking for is a solid 3rd option, not franchise.

Who do you think you are to say that? Clutch is the founder of this site and he and a few other mods are the ones who keep this great site going. Without them you don't even have the chance to bullsh*t here like what you just did.

To be fair every time we won, someone (I'm looking at you don grahamleone) would bump that thread up as well, which was just as annoying.

I already forgot my early-tanking thread, thanks for reminding.
No matter what, my early-tanking thread deserved a lock doesn't mean Clutch is not starting a 5-star thread.

Its not easy to tank, expecially we play teams like minni and portland, who are trying to tank as well, its very diffcult. however, i still think we should. Good thing that all our games left are road games, yao will get tired. When yao gets tired, we lose, haha. :)

    "as annoying"?
I would say more. You can count who jumped out more times.
Actually, most times during which I jumped were because of self-defense.

    Touche ;)

Although, in his defense (a tenuous one at best), don grahamleone was just bumping it because he was superstitious. JWhaley seemed almost giddy every time we lost.

Given a choice, would you rather eat crow and have the Rockets win, or
be correct in predicting a horrible season? Anyone who would choose the latter just doesn't strike me as a fan in my opinion.

    New York 19W54L
    Portland 20W53L
    Charlotte 21W54L
    Atlanta 22W51L
    Toronto 26W48L
    Orlando 29W44L
Looking at the whole league, if we keep losing and reach the top 5 lottery teams(to be realistic, top 4 would just go overboard), we might repeat 2002 luck and land no.1 pick.
Edit: in 2002, rockets got no.1 pick with the 5th worst record in the league.

If that happens, we will have no.1 picks for both rounds because we have the second round pick from New York.

I don't mind not being a fan in your opinion.
I would rather be rational instead of day-dreaming everyday.
Sorry for the political-incorrect words, but that's what it is.

You're accusing me of being irrational? I never thought this Rockets team would contend for a title this season. Swift was too big of a crapshoot, nor am I actually expecting the Rockets to make the playoffs now. It's one thing to have realistic expectations. You, on the other hand, have wanted the Rockets to lose it all since the end of November.

Speaking of which...the only way we get into the top 5 is if we lose ALL 8 of our remaining games; Seattle, Minnesota, Boston, Golden State, and Orlando win 2-4 games; AND Toronto wins 6 of their final 8 games. Who's the one that's really daydreaming?

I totally agree. On average, you have a pretty good chance with top 10 picks, out of top 10, you need either to be very good at what you are doing (drafting) or you get lucky.

Pierce was picked close to the 10th, Amare was 9th, Caron Butler 10th, there are some good picks around the 9th and the 10th, but not afterwards consistently.

I totally agree with Clutch, Yao has impressed the hell out me and everyone, but to guarantee we lose out, Yao may have to go down with a minor hamstring pull. Sit him in the trainers room for the remainder of the season. Shut it down. The rocket franchise owe's it to the real fan that they secure a top 8 pick in the upcoming draft. We the fan's need some payoff for what has been described as a season similar to root canal operation. Also this is not a weak draft as some have said, there are players that can help the rockets right away. Getting a top 8 pick could potentially land the rockets that elusive 3rd option that they so desperately need. It's all about the lottery balls here on out.

yeah i like brewer too.. he can be our marquis daniels or even a mini josh howard.. probably more like daniels with Defense. only drawback is he's a bit short for the 2 guard.. but we need a quick perimeter defender like him

Bit short for 2 guard??????? Take a look at this:

    Noah (left) 6-11
    Horford (middle) 6-9
    Brewer (right) is 6-8

A 6-8 guard with extremely long arms, you think that's short for 2 guard? If he's short, so is Tmac. And if anything, he's too big for a 2 guard.

When the alternatives are Wesley, Head, and Bogans -- sure they can start for us. Especially if Wesley doesn't return ...

And, yeah, Brewer's jump shot looks messed up. As long as he can put the ball in the basket, it doesn't matter to me.

I think Ronnie Brewer is probably more capable of playing SG for us than Corey Brewer, and he's a much more developed offensive player. He has the ball-handling and passing skills to play point at times. His size and quickness will be an asset on the defensive end. He's probably more similar to a Marquis Daniels-type than Corey Brewer, because of his all around offensive skills.
