The guy is a freakin dumb ass without a doubt.

He has single handedly destoryed the Rockets.

    Bringing in old ass players
Playing Yao when he was already hurt.
Costing us a good draft pick.

Somebody please remind me why we still have this idiot as a coach? :([/QUOTE]
    Un f#cking believeable!
JVG is the dumbest coach I've ever heard. He doesn't care **** other than his coaching record. He refuses to play for the future. Does he have an affair with JHO? Did Lampe catch them doing it on spot? WTF is wrong with this MFer?

I posted this in another thread a few days back. Shows the probability of getting a particular pick based on our record order.

    Code:
                                   TEAM RECORD
    		6	7	8	9	10	11
    	1	6.3%	4.3%	2.8%	1.7%	1.1%	0.8%
    	2	7.1%	4.9%	3.3%	2%	1.3%	1%
    	3	8.1%	5.8%	3.9%	2.4%	1.6%	1.2%
    	4	0%	0%	0%	0%	0%	0%
    DRAFT	5	0%	0%	0%	0%	0%	0%
    PICK	6	43.9%	0%	0%	0%	0%	0%
    	7	30.5%	59.9%	0%	0%	0%	0%
    	8	4%	23.2%	72.4%	0%	0%	0%
    	9	0.1%	1.8%	16.8%	81.3%	0%	0%
    	10	0%	0%	0.8%	12.2%	87%	0%
    	11	0%	0%	0%	0.4%	8.9%	90.7%
    	12	0%	0%	0%	0%	0.2%	6.3%
    	13	0%	0%	0%	0%	0%	0.1%
    	14	0%	0%	0%	0%	0%	0%

Our chances of getting the 6th pick have been erased. It's unlikely we'll even finish with the 7th worst record, so we can kiss the 7th pick good bye as well. Our chances of getting one of the top 3 picks also probably dropped by more than half.

Hey, but at least we won a meaningless game against a team in tank mode!

disagreed. considering guys like TMac and Barry and Deke have called him the "best coach i've ever played for" and a reason for staying and talked about learning so much from him..

The players on the floor aren't playing to lose. For them their may be no next season. They want to win...and it's the coaches responsibility to empower his players to win. It's his job.

I can't imagine a coach trying to throw games, it'd be dispicable. Frankly, the Rockets were without Yao and T-mac, they shouldn't have even been in the game, but you have to let the players play and try to win. You can't tell them to throw the game no more then you can tell a Olympic runner to not try their hardest right now but save it for next year.

DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH WHILE AWAITING FOR THIS TO HAPPEN
IT MIGHT BE NOTHING BUT A RED HERRING There isn't a definite plan in place for next season, if there was JVG would have insisted that the Rox loose to-night.
For sure I don't TRUST JVG and the Rockets organization should be down on him like a TON of Bricks

Van Gundy personally does not care about the rocket's organization. He is only in it for himself, just garnering wins for his overall record.

I'm sure they would have said the same thing under Rudy T or other fine coaches.

Welcome to H-Town Shelden. And Goodbye to Swift. It seems obvious that JVG is running our pick up so all we can do is get the BPA at 9 or 10. Then he has forced us to trade SS for some T.R. Dunn type player probably.

On another note, I read a rumor somewheres about Allen Houston considering coming out of retirement.

I cannot believe this. The Spurs just won the 1st seed for playoffs. Now the sad thing is that we will probably win against the Spurs on Wednesday. The Spurs will likely bench Tim Duncan/Manu/Parker to get their rest before the playoffs.

The Spurs would be foolish to beat the Rockets. They know if they win, the Rockets will get a better draft pick.

I changed channels with three minutes to go, figuring we had this loss in the bag. Plus, I couldn't look at that ugly Denver court anymore. Just saw the score - I'm in total shock. JVG is a fool. If he'd been coaching the Spurs the year before they picked Duncan, the Spurs would have no titles instead of three.

What did Karl do out there tonight? He threw the game. He benched his best players. He practically begged us to steal the win, and he was smart to do it. A weaker Rockets team in the future is better for the Nuggets. He could have easily put Melo in at any time, for just a few possessions, and sealed the game. The fans in Denver were begging him to.

You have to win games. Tanking is the most asinine thing in the world. What the hell is the point in losing? Nothing! I want a higher draft pick just as much as the next person, but tanking is just going to promote a terrible thing-losing. The fact of the matter is we won't get the #1-5 pick barring a complete miracle. The 6-10 picks are going to garner some very comparable players. We will have a great opportunity to draft a stud at 10 just like at 5. Also, Tyrus Thomas and Rudy Gay both declared today for the draft and both of them will be top 5 picks. That helped the Rockets out more right there then losing the game. They'll be a stud available for us to draft wherever me land.

I heard during the game that JVG wants to go after a big 2 guard. I wish it was Shelden to replace out Swift.

With this win, our chances of getting Brandon Roy have gone down tremendously.

If the Rockets are still looking for a big 2-guard in this draft (which I think is the right approach, unless they can trade away Swift or Howard), then who else is a possibility?

Ronnie Brewer has great size and a pretty good all-around offensive game. Needs to work on his catch and shoot game, though. Should be a good defensive player.

After that ... maybe Roby? But if want to get him, it might make more sense to trade down for him and get something extra. I just hope the Rockets have the sense to steer clear of Redick. We can do better.

Bad example. I think he's got a good chance to be really good. Pick someone from the Kenyon Martin/Mike Miller draft. That would probably be closer to the supposed weakness of this draft.

Very interesting and in agreement with what I have been saying all year. This team has taken a talent nose dive since last season. He knows he can't win with this group of role players. But, wait, didn't he bring these players in? Or did he have little to say about CD's choices. I'm confused. I know this, the Rockets have yet to surround Ming and TMac with the right cast of complimentary players.

In another interview on FoxSportsSW tonight JVG said that the gap between SA, Dallas, and the Rockets is wider than ever, that the young players had not stepped up, and the team lacked talent (the same thing he said after last season). He is correct on all counts, except I don't think he gave Hayes a fair chance. He all but stated that the assumption that a healthy TMac and Ming would have carried the team to the playoffs was false. I agree. The current role players are so far behind the contending teams it is not even close.

All this makes me wonder who is in charge of personnel selection, and if he is complaining about quality why did he bring in all the old Knicks who have contributed near to nothing to the team?

IF we had stayed at the 7th spot, that's a 15% chance of getting a top 3 pick. I would love to have those odds. Now, we've got a 3 percent chance. Your precious, meaningless win cut our chances down to one fifth of what they would have been. And then the extra 2-3 slots are huge as well.

Thomas and Gay were already givens to be in this draft. IF we had the 7th, we might have had a chance to get a top prospect if he fell. Don't forget that Noah could always enter the draft, which COULD have pushed Gay or Roy down to us at 7. All this goes out the window with tonight's win.

People act like they're all high and mighty, above tanking. Well, there would be a grand total of 0 championships in the state of Texas if those coaches were as stubborn as ours.

So true. Dream and Duncan didn't go Lone Star by their teams winning meaningless games. The sad thing is that we don't need a Dream or Duncan. A Roy or Gay or Thomas or Aldridge probably would have been enough. Now we got to do a little fishing and pray a lot harder for Tracy's back to hold up.

JVG is clueless. He completely disses the role playes he brought in-- right after they fought their butts off for a stupid win only JVG could love. A win that makes it harder to bring in new role players. This is stupid. Even if he is going to trade them all what is he going to get after he runs them down?. What a leader of men and motivator he is with this crap. Do others on thisvbbs respond to bs from superisors like JVG?.

JVG always blames others. Under the guise of being so upfront he is just a blame shifter. If he had integrity equal to the game he talks, he would just cut and run as he did in NY.

Unless Les has promised him to completely bust the cap, we are left with JVG bringing in 6 new old cheap guys to try to turn things around.

JVG makes it hard to be a Rocket fan. I could always be proud of Rudy, not this fraud.
