We've missed the playoffs three years in a row and in response have turned over the entire roster. What changes are you suggesting: players, coach, or GM?
It would be 4 years in a row, so Management. You can't miss the playoffs 4 years in a row, turn over the roster (which he's been doing year to year anyways), and as your excuse say "We're trying to build a contender to beat OKC/Miami" when you're nowhere near the ballpark of doing that anyways. So, no, that's not going to cut it. That would be like Microsoft losing money 4 years in a row, and the CEO justifying to stockholder's, "We don't need to just make money and have success. These 4 down years of us losing, is because we're trying to beat Google. Oh, btw, you might lose money again this year. But it's OK, because we're trying to beat Google."
I seriously hate this thread. Regardless of it's sarcastic nature it ignores the future while pining for the present.
By the way the OP has changed his tune recently you would think we traded MJ or something. Its a damn shame, because he was one of my favorite posters. Hopefully he gets back to his usual self.
Haha. Yea that's what I thought. If you knew what context was then you wouldn't be having this conversation.
Yea, his whole black and white decision making is pretty stupid. The "someone must pay for this outrage!" mindset that some posters adopt is moronic.
That's a terrible analogy. In basketball there can only be one champion so if you aren't making improvements to get to that point you are probably doing something wrong. In the business world multiple people can "win" by making large profits. The Rockets completely changed course this year and are way ahead of schedule as far as success goes. I'm not sure how anybody can think that the Rockets are on the same path this year as they have been over the previous three.
you are right it is not like the okc Thunder/seatle supersonices missed the play offs 4 years in a row during their rebuilding periode http://www.nbauniverse.com/teams/records_oklahoma_city_thunder.htm Oh wait they did.
was this the thread where people wouldn't believe me that our offense hasn't been the same since the trade? This isn't about patterson, I'm not commenting about the trade but any sane person with two eyes can now see that our offense has been terrible even in our wins and its been bad since the trade.
We could have used him today. I don't even know what to call Morey for his trade. It was mind-numbingly stupid. Hope he is fired if we miss the playoffs.
