Not sure why we need Paul Pierce on this Rockets team. Doesn't TMac play the exact same 2 or 3 position? As long as TMac stays healthy, we are not missing a Pierce.
Alright, I'm prepared to be called crazy, and I'm totally ready for that. I'm not saying this should be a starting line-up, but... C-Yao PF-Mutumbo Alright go ahead and laugh but... I've seen this a couple times when Yao is ready to go back and Dike is still fresh and they seem to work well together. Now obviously Dike is god knows how old, so he couldn't handle starters minutes, but I think he deserves a spot in the rotation, because that would sure as hell be intimidating. But that's just my two cents.
Please complain in Americlanish, not that British-based hub-ub you just used. Mind you that I'm just kidding. But you know, one day Juwan is going to kill himself and his goodbye letter is going to mention you by name...
I have another incredibly bad idea. With all this talk about Yao not getting fouls in the first half, why not start him on the bench. First five minutes of the game are usually dominated by a lot of high energy. Guys get a chance to calm down, then we stick in Yao. Every offensive play goes thru Yao. Get a lead, put him on the bench again. Second half, he plays every minute. 11 first half minutes with very few fouls, then 24 second half minutes with all the fouls to work with.
I have a feeling if Stro was around players like this we have. He'd be way better in term of performance. Imagine all the open dunks and easy shot he would get. With McGrady, Yao, Bonzi, and Battier - he would get a lot of good looks.
ummm... where in the world have been?!? we all know stro was a failure, he didnt fit in with the rockets. you need to change ur post I mean Jho is not all that great either but I'd rather have Jho in the current line-up than stro!!! Its no rocket science...
Running/Energy, Grab a few boards here and there, Slash for easy buckets, Block shots = Shane Battier We don't need the dunk shot and young high leaping Chris Wilcoxes at the moment. Just execution of the shots that become available whether they're dunked in, finger rolled in or jump shotted in. Shane isn't the most fleet footed but he'll play the sturdy face up D, an asset that shouldn't be overlooked for the blocked shot stat. Battier figures in as does Novak some. So basically it'd be dealing away Chuck Hayes for a taller Chuck Hayes, which isn't a necessary move (unless a team wants J. Howard finstead for whatever reason). A young big man who could play PF and C would be nice for some depth (like the much talked about Melvin Ely) but they'll be okay to good I with what they have I think.
actually, believe it or not guys........the guy you guys keep sayin we need(young leaper around the basket who dunks) is actaully what we DON'T NEED at this time..... guys we are fine......actually someone to space the floor with is way more valuable than someone who needs to clog the paint area because he needs to dunk....someone who can stick the 15 to 17 footer more consistently is just what the doctor ordered.....you all will see........as long as battier, howard, hayes are rebounding effectively we are a ok...........i know we hate howard here, myself included.........but off the bench he will be awesome with the second unit.......i would keep him for that role..........dam i can't believe i just said that .......but its true
really don't see jho being around after the trade deadline. probaly just be around long enough to see what the team needs to get over that last hump
Reminds me of an older NBA Live game that I had where I'd run out Yao, Cato, and Eddie Griffin. I never missed a rebound.
