He is taking a lie detector test voluntarily. He wants to be cleared as soon as possible so they can focus on who might have done it.

I've never considered myself to be a paranoid person, but stuff like this really has me thinking twice about going out alone now.

As far as I know lie detectors aren't admissible in court, so I don't think it really matters what the results are.

They can be up to 98% accurate but it depends on the polygraph examiner giving the exam.

They just help the Homicide Detectives eliminate suspects so they don't waste their time.

They are admissable in court in some cases.

Well, if it takes attention off of the husband and makes the police seek someone else out, assuming he's innoncent, the that's at least something.

I went to Klein and graduated in 2001, so I'm not really sure if I remember her there or not, but the name sounds awfully familiar to me. I find it unbelievable that something like this could happen in our area....it's always been so safe. I hope everything turns out ok for everyone involved.

I went to Klein and live in the same area. This is really not the kind of thing you expect to happen in this part of Houston, however these things can happen anywhere from time to time.

If you're not female, I don't think you should be too concerned.

If you ask me, then there should be high quality cameras set up around any shopping parking lot...that leaves no room for anything happening in that parking lot. The cameras that are in use are so low quality that it is difficult in a lot of cases to see anything clearly...and coverage is poor. IMO, that and stepped up security is the only way to stop these types of kidnappings. I know that setting up cameras like that is a pipe dream, though. There is always going to be some sicko who will prey on women shopping alone who are not paying attention to their surroundings (or, even if they are). I wish she could have hit the panic button on her car alarm (assuming she had one) or something. This may have been motivated by money but probably more likely it was sexually motivated. It makes me sick that there are people like that around. I hope they catch the b*stard that did this. I'd personally rather be shot dead in the parking lot than go with someone like that...because chances are if you get in that car...you are a goner unfortunately. I know people think that if they do as the criminal says...they may get out of this alive...but that isn't realistic unfortunately. How many of these cases end up with the person being dropped off somewhere and being safe? I would venture a guess that it is very, very few. I would think your best bet is to struggle initially...and hope that the sicko gets scared because they are in public and leave. How many of these sickos would actually kill someone on the spot? I would say probably not many...because that would exponentially increase their chances of drawing attention to the situation and being caught. But, regardless, that is a horrible situation to be in to where quick thinking might be the saving grace. It's almost like you have to have already thought this out ahead of time...and what you would do...even practicing what you would do.

I'm sorry for what she, her family, her friends, etc. are having to go through. It must be horrible. I hope they got some video of the culprit(s)...and bring him or them to justice.

I remember watching something about the BTK killer were one time he had dropped off some of the clues he would always leave in the back of a truck at a shopping mall. All the video they had was of a black car. Couldn't make out the model, the license or anything of any importance. And it was another 8 or 10 years before he was caught.

I think you're right that your best chance is to resist getting the car, even if they have a gun. Once you're in the car they have total control of you. If you just take off running, there is a very good chance that they won't shoot and if they do they'll miss or just graze you.

When I was living in Austin in the early 90's there was a horrible case of a woman being abducted at gun point from a car wash near the apartment where I was living with my girlfriend. Of course the woman was raped and killed. I remember talking about with my girlfriend about never getting in a car, even if you have a gun pointed at you.

I agree! I'd NEVER get in the car with the person. I'd rather to be shot because I DO NOT want to be raped. That's the most worst thing that can happen to a woman (besides losing her child). God forbid but if I ever get in this situation, I definitely will use EVERY fiber in my body to struggle even though if I get beat up.

I would just like to add that we obviously don't know what happened in this particular abduction. If one is not paying attention to their surroundings and someone sneaks up on them from behind, then the victim could have been pistol-whipped or grabbed/taken before she had a chance to react. You really need to have eyes in the back of your head and be aware of your surroundings. The worst thing you can do in a parking lot IMO is not pay attention to your surroundings, be fidgeting around with shopping bag placement leaning over into an open car, and generally be in a situation where you are unaware. Throw your bags in the car...and get going as soon as possible. Don't procrastinate. Definitely don't be distracted by a cell phone.

The body found yesterday was confirmed to be Sabrina.
    :(

May she rest in peace and the person(s) responsible are caught.
