I'm at UT. The biggest advice I'd give to a 1L is to learn to think about everything you read not as an individual piece of information but think of how that fits into the framework of the law as a whole. That's the biggest mistake I made my first year. I focused on what a particular case meant and not how that case fit in with everything else I'd read. Also, don't get stressed out if you feel lost. Everyone (well, most people) go through that phase. If you're struggling, just remember that everyone else is struggling, as well. I had a rough first semester and a great second semester. The important thing to remember as a 1L is that your first year is the most important year so do everything you can to make it count. In the interests of not hijacking the thread, I'll stop there but if you have any questions or want to know of any study guides that may or may not help, just send me an email through the board and I'll be happy to help. I'm still a 2L but I'll do what I can.
I conduct work measurement studies (random moment time sampling) for a large state agency. We determine precisely how long it takes to do the various functions and activities that make up the different jobs in the agency.
