He may be reaching for some absurd trades, but in all likelihood they won't happen and he will just pull a moneyball trade out of his pocket.
I also have this feeling...which is why I started this thread. If Dorsey is in the mix then maybe....I wouldn't be surprised if we do a Landry sign and trade.....anything is possible
lol. I'd be VERY surprised if we did a S&T for Landry...because that means we're going against NBA rules
Please read my post again. It is completely obvious that the is a HUGE difference in getting a backup sg and getting our "third scorer". My point is, why would anyone in their right mind choose option 2 when option three is there??
Minor trade just means that they won't be a significant change to the core of the team. They might trade a bench player for draft picks or cash. I would be surprised if this minor trade turned into a big trade. He said it may take two weeks which tells me he is probably shopping around bench players and looking for the best offer
I understand what you mean....but with a "minor trade" would you be happy to get a option 2? I know option 3 is basically the same but better....but what would you be satisfied with when we do this trade?
Since Hoops World reported it. It means Dorsey's not getting traded. Rockets have 14 guaranteed contracts including Dorsey. If the Rockets want to re-sign Landry, Deke, and retain Harris they will need to trade away 2 of those guaranteed contracts. Also the Magic signed Anthony Johnson. That's one trade destination off the the list. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orl-bk-orlando-magic-keyon-dooling-071508,0,3501197.story The club signed veteran Anthony Johnson on Tuesday to fill the back-up point-guard role behind starter Jameer Nelson. Johnson accepted a two-year deal woth $3.8 million --- the same offer that Dooling rejected some time ago.
What sort of poll is this Like many others, I want to vote "C" as the position we're looking to trade for... Starting point is a "minor" trade sheesh... It's for a backup C - lock it in. please please please Pachulia!!!
Sure I'd be satisfied if we got a good backup sg in a "minor trade" if we didn't just obtain one in Brent Barry. Right now, we need to just focus on getting rid of our packed roster of guaranteed contracts. Going back to being satisfied with a backup 2 guard, I guess If he could contribute, but there is no reason to ask "what would we would want most" and put a)backup sg b)starting material sg/sf who can be our "third scorer". The obvious choice for anyone is the latter.
Yea, that's what I'm hoping, too! Hopefully, turning Head and Hayes into a 4 million expiring contract would be great to add to Jackson's 6.1 contract to trade at the deadline for that third scorer.
Minor trades will never never never ... make rockets a team as great as celtics.houston needs max trades involving tmac to make rockets a champion team. I think morey knows the idea above and is considering asking the most payback from Pistons.
