You know I think you have the mistaken thought that everyone on a playoff team is a superstar.

A lot of posters here think Head has zero value, or maybe less than zero value. Hey, he's a rotation player. He has definite value, and there are teams out there that will trade for him. Not much, I grant you, but if he's the #9 player here (for example), on a 55-win team, he's approximately worth the #9 player on most any other 50+ win team. I bet, if we listed all those #9 players, there would be some that you guys would be ecstatic to have. A year later, you'd be bad-mouthing them, just like you bad-mouth Luther. Y'all were saying the same things about Nachbar when he was here. For that matter, y'all were saying such things about Kenny Smith when we had him.

BTW, "minor trade" means we will be changing some players around, and it won't make any difference on the roster.

Agreed, a lot of the people here judged Head that way because he didn't show up in the playoffs. But lets be honest, its not like he was the only one who didn't. Yea he can't dribble and make bone headed decisions all the time but we need him to do one thing and one thing only, hit shots when open, and I am not ready to give up on him just because of one series.

Minor deal would probably involve Novak, I think I read it somewhere that Morey said he was trying to move him.

What about Boki? The Nets are looking for a S&T.

You don't think he would be an upgrade to Novak, Head?

I'd like to have him but if we are looking for enough salary to trade for a superstar at the deadline, we really need to turn Head and Novak into another expiring contract of the same value as their two contracts.

Concur. Morey already has made his big "ploop" for he summer with he Barry signing.

I would be very impressed if he pried Javaris Crittenden away from the Grizzlies before the Orlando Magic does. But he won't

I agree, he probably won't see a lot of playing time, but its always nice to know you have someone on the bench that you trust.

Tell me you wouldn't trust putting Chuck in at the end of the game to get a defensive stop. That's a limited role, but it's still a role.

Say Harris does improve his three point shot, which he did make some of those last night. Then someone like, say Battier, bleeds, like he is known to do, you don't think he could come in for a spot 10-15 minutes so that Batts can get sewn up?

I just think that it's not the size of your role that makes you important to team building, but your willingness to make the most of it.

I don't think we would still have enough to get another "Superstar". Expiring contracts don't always guarantee a you will get a great player...Only if you trade to Memphis and they are all out of superstars to trade.

Yet all still better options than Francis.

to be honest, Nachbar has never averaged double figures in anything in his 8 year NBA career, is a poor shooter, and is an ******* as a person. He can't pass, rebound, make jumpshots, or play intensive defense. I really don't see the difference between him and Luther Head or Steve Novak if they played the same minutes as him.

Just what is Boki good at? Nothing! He's just a marginal player in the NBA that can't do much of anything. If he's in the rotation, your team isn't a contender. And all he wants now is to get paid.

Good luck to whatever team signs him. He might fit on a mediocre or below-average team that needs a warm body to fill a roster spot. The Rockets are in the opposite situation of needing to pare down players.

My bet is he signs a two-year deal and stays with the Nets.

To get some insurance at center........

A minor move (trade) with the Lakers:

    Head and Novak

    for

    Mihm.

It would cut a little salary and free up a roster spot.

Can we all agree that if the Greene and Barry acquisitions work out, then we don't expect to see too much of Head or Novak, barring some type of injury? In that case then why try to get rid of both of them. Someone has to go and if everyone is healthy we clearly value the first two over the latter.......

You always have to take account injury. Especially with this Rockets lineup, which is why Novak is clearly more expendable then Head.

Not saying Head shouldn't go, but Novak should be first in line

I believe Crittenden is going to be a special player. I would consider a matching salary like head(?) plus a future 1st rounder. Think that would get it done? What is Orlando offering?
