Barry plays the 1/2/3.....Head the 2.....Barry affects him.

Novak plays the 3/4...Barry affects him.

Both are end of the bench players......and expiring contracts......

We know what Luther can and can not do, and we have a pretty good idea about Novak too....

I am saying that all EITHER of them is worth is a late game replacement...where we have all 3pt shooters on the floor.....and I would rather Novak be there than Head....

    Nothing more.

To take a page out of your book from the Artest thread, well, I'm glad Morey agrees with me.

    Good bye Novak!

For the Mike Harris lovers, I am putting out the Rockets salaries analysis to disappoint you guys again that Mike Harris wont be with the Rockets.

The Rockets are currently with 12 guaranteed contracts (including Greene and Barry). When Dorsey, Deke, and Landry are signed, the salaries will be ~ 74 millions (that include the waived salaries of J Reed and J Butler). That's ~3 millions over luxury tax.

This year's luxury tax rebate to non-contributing teams is ~3 millions. Thanks to the generous contributions of James Dolan and Mark Cuban.

It's a lot of money to give up if the Rockets are not going into the luxury tax because of they have acquired a significant player.

The minor trade may be dumping Novak for TE/picks. But I dont see Morey wants to pick up any salary. Morey still have jobs to do to shave another couple millions of salaries by the trade deadline.

The Rockets will go into this coming season without a full roster to allow them flexibilities and go under the luxury tax.

Mike Harris is never in the Rockets plan. The Rockets are doing Mike Harris a favour to showcase him in the summer league and hope somebody pick him up.

Hey, will Mike Harris get a call from Europe aka Loren Woods?

If he goes, he goes....so what...he is an end of the bench player......if we could get Artest for Novak, I would do that deal.

    :D

Oh, and Morey can't always right, he botched the Landry signing last year....Morey needs a DD infusion on his staff, but the Rockets could not afford me.

    ;)

I wouldn't be too sure. If Francis and Head are both moved for TEs the Rockets will be under LT by more than the MLE. This would deter other teams from offerring their whole MLE to Landry. It also creates roster spots for Harris and Deke if they're players the Rockets want to keep.

    Nice analysis, but incomplete.

The Lux tax is not decided until late in the year giving teams a chance to try different things and get under the tax situation before it hits....like the Rockets did last year by getting rid of Snyder to get under the Lux tax.

Last year Rick Adelman was pissed that he had to let Mike Harris go, as he produces on the court.....I doubt he lets him walk again...

Adelman is never pissed about anything except Phil Jackson and not winning a championship. Adelman says good things about players. But Adelman doesnt and wont miss Harris. Dont read too much into what Adelman says about players.

    LT threshold is $71.15M.

Rockets team salary including Reed, Barry, Greene, Dorsey, Deke and Harris is $71.32M.

Butler had a team option in his last year that was obviously not picked up.

The Rockets salary dumped Bonzi, James, and Snyder to get back under LT this past season. No reason why they wouldn't look to do the same if they're over again this upcoming season.

Maybe if you read my whole post...

If Butler had a team option, then hoopshye.com just has some bad info.

This is really premature, but I have a feeling that Mike Harris will be signed to a contract before the season starts. He's exactly the type of player that the Rockets covet.

Yes, they do. It's been mentioned by Morey on the radio and the Chron.

Yeah right, Harris, Hayes is exactly the type of players that Rockets covet to bring the 3rd championship.

How many minutes Harris played in the playoffs?
