Brent Barry can play minutes at SG and SF. And most importantly, PG. He's versatile.

Luther Head, like him or hate him, can do some things other then shoot the 3 ball. As long as he's not asked to run backup PG duties for long stretches, Head is effective out there.

Novak is nothing more than a spot up 3 pt shooter.

He can't rebound, pass, play D, etc.

I'd rather have hayes guarding boozer. Am i the only one that thinks Chuck is still our best defensive power forward and probably in our top three of defensive players on our team overall?

    Rockets Planning Minor Trade

The Houston Rockets signed rookie Donte Green and waived center Loren Woods on Monday, and according to GM Daryl Morey, they are not done yet, the Houston Chronicle is reporting.

Morey said Monday’s moves will not be the last, saying he planned a "minor" trade for this month.

"There is definitely going to be a roster management move," Morey said, "probably in the next two weeks."

I think if a team has cap room then they can take in the contract without having to give up a player to match contracts.

Like if Bulls have 3 million in cap space and Heads salary is 1.3 million then we get 1.3 million taken off of our teams cap.

sounds like novak will be traded for a trade exception.

although I hope the trade won't just be for a trade exception. Get back some players!

    Go Morey!

Ditch Novak and Head at will. Hopefully getting some value back in second round picks or some such thing. They both waste a space on a 12 man roster.

Do NOT ditch Hayes like that.

Hayes is the 2008 answer to Chucky Brown, or at least he would be if we had been contenders of any sort over the last couple years.

That guy is a gamer. He's probably out of the 8 or even 10 man rotation right now but you do not just throw away a guy who plays that hard and that much above his natural talent.

He should be our 12th man until he retires or until we get real, true value back. And you never get real, true value back for a no nonsense player like him. Lock him up for life, sit him on the bench, use him in practice and on and on and on. When you have a 12th man like Hayes, he's as valuable as any other team's 10th man.

    Don't trade him for spit.

I think Morey understands his value though, so I'm not too worried.

Francis + Novak for Brian Cook?

or Francis + Novak for Bogans?

or Head + Novak for Bogans?

Redick only works in a 1 for 1 deal which wouldn't make much sense as Head has proven to be the better player and costs less dollars.

    Team A trades $10M for Team B $8M.

    A $2M TE is generated.

    Team A receives $8M + $2M TE. Team B receives $10M.

Seems like you're a bit confused. There's no reason reason why the Rockets wouldn't generate a TE in this deal. It's not like individual TE's can get traded. How it works is that anytime a team sends out more salary than they're getting back, a TE is generated for the salary difference plus 100k, that can be used up to a year. So in this case, we're not trading for Chicago's TE. We generate a TE for sending out Luther's salary without taking any salary back.

See salary cap faq for more detailed explanation: http://members.cox.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm#69
