This wouldn't be a bad lineup:

    PG - Barry
    SG - AI
    SF - TMac
    PF - Scola
    C - Yao

    or maybe this:

    PointF - TMac
    SG - AI
    SF - Mike Harris
    PF - Scola
    C - Yao

    6th - Barry

I feel Iverson works best when hes playing his natural position. We all know T-Mac is comfortable being a playmaker, maybe he can be "our Magic" and we know Barry is a great passer as well.

    wow.

Love the speculation for the Iverson trade.

It'd be awesome for the Rockets with a lineup like this:

    PG- Barry
    SG- Iverson
    SF- McGrady
    PF- Scola
    C- Yao

    Thats an awesome lineup!

That guy on the original shaggybevo forum sounded pretty serious and genuine. However he is just another poster on the forum, with no source or link, and I'm not sure if anyone knows his reputation regarding info supplied.

Brilliant Idea anyways, never thought of it.

I would think this is very unlikely. First of all, I don't see why Denver want to do this. Second of all, It is hard to understand why Rox needs to do that. With Yao, T-Mac and AI starting, this team will give up 105 points per night.

I really don't see the AI trade happening, but it really does make you think. AI carried Philly to the Finals at one point in his career.

Anybody reading this AI "rumor" should note this was posted on Friday and its now Tuesday. Word would have leaked by now if anything was imminent. Clutch would have been all over this.

AI is getting up there in age and can't take much more of the beatings that he's been taking, but at the same time, but it would be very interesting to see him with a rox uniform. that's our big 3.

Yao, Mac, AI > Pierce, KG, Allen

    makes you wonder.

    Scola > Perkins
    Alston = Rondo

    Boston bench > Houson bench

I don't know why, but I have a feeling that some trade will go down in the next two days or so.

I would do the deal, but it leaves us with alot of holes.

The huge expirings at the end of the next two years makes it VERY interesting. This team could be completely different in 2 years, with 40 million dollars wrapped up in 2 players. Intriguing to say the least.

You'd have to throw in Greene to make it close to realistic. Probably Brooks, too. Or, find a way to take Kelvin Martin, too.

How about Battier, Rafer, Hayes, Brooks, and Greene. Putting aside the salary-matching for the sake of argument, would you do this? Would Denver?

Or, if we sign Landry, his knee is OK, and we wait until 12/15, how about Battier, Rafer, Landry, Brooks, and Greene.

It would make a huge difference to have Tracy and Yao open half the time.

Denver might wanna call it quits with their group of no-defense guys and rebuild.

It does sound a little unlikely, and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to gut our line-up and lose our starting point guard and defensive ace for a 30+ year old tiny shooting guard.

Remember, Denver got AI from Philly for Andre Miller and peanuts. Given that he's only got one year left at $21M, they might want to get some value for him in return. Not only that, but surrounding Carmelo with more team oriented guys with reasonable contracts like Shane and Rafer isn't such a bad idea.

Meanwhile on Houston's end, it's more of a one shining moment deal, where you pair up 3 superstars and hope it works out. Unfortunately, it rarely does.

Actually, the Rockets could NOT be major players in the summer of 2009. Remember, even when their expiring contracts are taken off the books (be it Jackson/Francis/Head or just Iverson's massive expiring contract), the Rockets will likely still be well over the salary cap. If anything, making the Iverson trade will require the Rockets to have to fill out their roster with guys willing to take one year deals in order to maximum their cap room for the summer of 2010. By then, if Battier has been traded, the Rockets would EASILY have enough cap room to sign a max player and then some.

I could almost understand having that one awesome year with AI, Yao, and TMac, but you wouldn't want to re-sign AI for the long term, so we'd have 2009-10 of TMac and the Rockets farting around waiting for the Summer of 2010 (Stoudemire, BronBron, Wade, Melo, Bosh).

Not that I give much credence to the AI rumor, but I think it'd have to be part of a 3 team thing, part of a bigger plan.
