it sounds doubtful that Mutumbo will return for another season. Maybe he wants more money than the Rockets feel he is worth or can afford.

    Here are my thoughts:

*Mutumbo is a question mark due to the Rockets having a hard time dealing with Faulk (Landry's and Deke's agent), when we work out Landry's situation, Deke will be next in line.

*Novak is a goner. He hasnt picked up on other parts of his game, so bye bye to our 2nd best cheerleader.

*Mike Harris is going to have to play his tail off to make this squad.

*Head is most likely a goner too.

*With the Clips having two of Francis' best buds in Cat and Davis, we should really consider moving him out West.
    -------------------------------------------
I have one question though, since we tendered on Novak, an picked up the option, is that why we have to wait 2 weeks before we can trade him like Morey suggests in the article (30 days later)?

Novak, at 6-8 barefoot, can get his shot off in one hot hurry -- and it's accurate. Redick, at 6-3 3/4 barefoot, can't get his shot off because he's even slower doing so than Luther. If you can't get your shot off, what good is accuracy in practice by yourself?

I'm reconciled to Threefer Novak being traded but not for another ineffective guard.

Landry doesn't have the same agent as Deke. Landry's agent is Andrew "Buddy" Baker.

How often has Leunen made a pressure last second 3-point winner that preserved a streak that went to 22 wins?

Have you ever seen Redick play? To say he is slower shooting the ball than Luther, you can't have seen him play. Redick has an incredibly quick catch and shoot release. He is in a whole different league than Luther shooting the basketball.

In the entire history of the NBA, I can definitively say that only Steve Novak has accomplished this feat.

I like Novak, he's a nice guy and all but lets be honest here. It's going to be a longshot for either Leunen or Novak to make the team. However, if it came down to one last roster spot and I were to pick one I'd put my money on Leunen since he's more well rounded, better defender, quicker, faster, stronger you name it he has the advantage over Novak except for 3pt shot which Novak is 2nd to not many in the league.

Then why can't he get minutes on a team starved for a decent SG? On the occasions where I watched him play, he was always at a loss trying to get his shot off.

Coming in to the league Redick had one of the quickest releases I have ever seen. Novak has one of the quicker releases on the Rockets. But I would say Redick is still faster unless he has slowed down.

I still think Redick is a major liability on defense is a small unathletic sg with almost no playmaking skills (for the NBA). But like Novak he is a shooter with a super quick release. So I think he will find his niche on some team that lacks shooting.

lol. I wanted to say Head's hit huge shots in games numerous times, but every thread in the off season gets so de-railed that I thought better of it. We all need our senses of humor...

Hey Clutch. You know what the possibilities are don't you? You do. Does it kill you keeping it in? Or do you laugh at our attempts to come up with something reasonable.

A player like Novak will always get a chance somewhere, whether it be in Houston or elsewhere.

the only reason that three needed to be made was due to the prison sceen that was Artest vs Novak

Really, wow, I could swear I read it was Faulk. Oh well.

Still though, since we picked up Novaks option, dont we have to wait 30 days before he can get traded? Can someone help me out on this plz.

We picked it up late at the end of last season. I think he's eligible to be traded at any time.

Very logical conclusion. But the fact he played in just 34 games last season for a total of 276 minutes and scored only 140 points on a team with a very weak backcourt would indicate otherwise. We're talking Jameer Nelson, Keith Bogans, Keyon Dooling and Carlos Arroyo. If Redick is nothing more than a "human victory cigar" with those guys on the team it doesn't look good for him. IMO, none of those guys is worth a plugged nickel.

There were several times last year when those 4 stunk it up and I wondered why Redick never got a chance. Either he's a circus performer like Novak or SVG and the Magic brass have something against him.
