Mike Foltynewicz, in his 1st AA inning, struck out 2. He walked Rico Noel... but he ended up picking off Noel. That was a guy who stole 90 bases last year.

And what a debut for Foltynewicz.

    5 IP, H, BB, 9 K

No score heading in to the 6th. David Martinez is on deck.

That is so encouraging to see! Folty may be hitting his stride now. Overall, I'm thrilled his success and the overall success of the minor starters.

Just checked out David Martinez's profile page. He's been in the system for the better part of a decade (2005). I don't think I've ever seen a minor leaguer who's taken that long and kept advancing every year. He's not your classic 'stalled out in AAA career minor leaguer'.

That 7th inning probably took about 35-40 seconds for him.

George Springer now leads all of Minor League baseball with his 11th home run of the season.

He and Singleton should be a nice middle of the order especially if Carter learns to walk.

I see Carter more as a stop gap until our other guys come up. But it would be nice if he could come around though.
