I saw on the news last night that Sugar Land is voting on an entertainment complex which includes a minor league ready baseball stadium.

The city needs to get permission from the Astros before contacting any other teams. I don't think any other teams would be interested in relocating an affiliate to the Houston area...maybe the Padres with owner John Moores.

I don't think the Astros would move their AA and AAA teams. I think their Rookie team has to stay in Kissimmee so it would probably be one of their A teams.

Would you watch A baseball with two good college programs in town? If I were a voter, I'd want to know who is coming before approving a stadium.

I think there is already a minor league team in League City also.

I didn't consider independent teams. IMO this plan is a bust if Sugar Land can't attract an affiliated team. I'd be curious to hear if the Astros are interested.
