Maxine Waters isn't just another protester nor does she live in the state. She's an elected US Representative and even a high ranking committee chair. What she says has far more effect than most of the people out there protesting.
So far pretty good. It sounds like most of the activity is at George Floyd Square where it’s a party scene.
It was a pretty boring night last night and boring is good. There was a small protest at Brooklyn Center but otherwise than that there was essentially a big party at George Floyd square that fizzled out around 10PM.
Glad to hear, judging by @J.R. posts you'd think it was just a bunch of butthurt white people crying.
J.R. and the rest of the Dork conservatives are so triggered right now. It's like Trump lost all over again. LMAO.
If cops had Yelp reviews it'd be F's across the board from all spectrums (yes there are good cops). But conservatives have to pretend like they love police because their politicians tell them to.
I'm not sure "conservative" is a proper label for that mindset anymore, especially with this case. An agent of the state was just convicting for murdering a citizen and acting with reckless impunity. That used to be the kind of thing conservatives were concerned with, but now they signal that they love these agents of the state so long as they're policing the others. It's almost as if modern American conservatism isn't conservative at all.
No riots in BK, that’s for sure. Was hanging out with the wife, drinking mezcal in one of those makeshift outdoor bars when the verdict was announced. There was much rejoicing.
Whoa man you know he can't respond. Just needs the next tweet to ride on the tailcoats of so he can post here again.
Abbott will be DAMNED if Austin, a city in Texas that didn't vote for him, tries to control it's own police budget. And you better BELIEVE the folks in Longview, TX that cant afford to drive to Austin will applaud it. Lulztz. Don't @ me
I complain to my wife sometimes that Republicans are not really conservative in the common sense of the word. Nothing conservative about subjecting every facet of life to free market capitalist idealism. Nothing conservative about transforming our national identity away from the melting pot we've embraced for the last century. They want some pretty radical departures from the status quo. I'm much more conservative. But just as conservatives on the board create confusion and incredulity by claiming to be "classical liberals", I'd just cause trouble by insisting I was a conservative.
"Last of four men sentenced to federal prison for torching Third Precinct": https://www.startribune.com/last-of...prison-for-torching-third-precinct/600065608/ good person owes $12 million in restitution: A U.S. District judge sentenced the last of four men who have pleaded guilty to torching a Minneapolis police station last summer to two years and three months in federal prison and ordered him to help pay $12 million in restitution for the damage. In court Monday morning, Judge Patrick Schiltz called Bryce Michael Williams a "good person who made a terrible mistake," which is why he rendered a prison term lower than prescribed by federal sentencing guidelines for the 27-year-old father and former college basketball player. But Schiltz rejected Williams' request for probation, describing him as a leader — "not a follower" — in the violent mob that torched the south Minneapolis Third Precinct police station during riots that engulfed the city after the murder of George Floyd. more at the link
