It's in the same category as a VW Beetle, Miata, old Nissan 240, and any hatchback. Just screams I love Grey's Anatomy.
Geez, does anyone ever think for themselves anymore? All I hear on this site is how you should and shouldn't be doing something, what you should and shouldn't wear, what cars men are suppose to drive, what music you need to listen to be cool, what we should do if we are taking a piss in the restroom and a shirtless asian guy grabs our ass, ect. Stop following these so called "guidelines" like everybody else and just do what you want to do. A certain car doesn't make you are more or any less of a "man".
So... we shouldn't be thinking we should do something we shouldn't be doing? Is this what we should be posting about what others shouldn't be thinking? I think we shouldn't. Should we?
I should you not. I like to drive my mini cooper while wearing jean shorts with socks and flip flops, jamming to some Black Eyed Peas while watching MTV on my in-screen dash as I sip my tapioca tea.
Interesting thread as I have had discussions about this topic but on other vehicles like the Mustang V6 (definitely a chick's car) compared to the V8 Mustang (GT or Cobra) which is definitely a guy's car (although I saw several years ago an incredible sight - a petite, pretty chick driving a Cobra on the highway going home, which I found an incredibly sexy turn-on, but I am digressing ). The Mini Cooper has the performance and handling ability to be a guy's car but because it is short and the overall body aesthetic of the car makes it look "cute" and thus be considered a chick car. It doesn't help that the car looks a lot like the new VW beetle which might be the ultimate girl car but yet I don't think a new VW beetle can perform like the Mini. With that being said, I wouldn't own one simply because as VooDoo pointed out, they are a major pain in the ass to have fixed which is the downside on having an exciting and/or exotic looking car.
My girlfriend has a MINI Cooper S, but I drive it all the time. It's awesome. I don't think its a girls car
