Michael Carter-Williams: 6'6, with a 6'7 wingspan, and is 23 years old Giannis: 6'11 with a 7'5 wingspan and is 20 years old Khris Middleton: 6'8 with a 6'11 wingspan and is 23 years old Parker: 6'8 with a 6'11 wingspan and is 19 years old Henson: 6'10 with a 7'5 wingspan and is 24 years old They're already 4th in defensive efficiency, they're a matchup nightmare. They're structured defensively much like the Warriors, able to interchange matchups on the defensive end. Kidd is turning the Bucks into a potential defensive juggernaut for years to come.
They are a young, long, big and athletic team. If those guys develop the ability to be efficient on offense they'll be dynamite. I'm not a fan of MCW at all and if I were the Bucks I would have much rather taken the Lakers pick for Knight instead of letting it go to the Sixers for MCW.
MCW won't become Jason Kidd, but if he can teach him how to shoot, he certainly can have a style awfully similar to him. I like the move a lot for the Bucks.
The defence with the trapping rotating system Kidd uses will be one of the best in the league - as soon as the end of this year. The offence though? Knight could shoot and be clutch and win games. MCW can't shoot and his turnovers are like Knights. Better vision though and I suppose you have a chance to fix shooting but vision no. I expect Kidd to put a very short leash on MCW and as soon as he starts shooting pulls him on the bench as he did with all the other young guys. I hated MCW and now I have to cheer for him fml. lol Come on ppl! Join the Bucks bandwagon as your Eastern team. XD
I'm not convinced that team will ever be a competent scoring team with that lineup. Regardless, it's an impressive collection of young talent, and will be formidable 2 years from now with a few tweaks.
It will depend on Parker GA and MCW developing an outshide shot. Middleton alone won't be enough. I am confident on Parker and Giannis managing it but MCW not so much.
Time to see if MCW is actually good but just surrounded by nothing in Philly or he's just not good altogether. Kind of a risk for the Bucks in the middle of a playoff push.
Don't forget about them also acquiring Miles Plumlee in the trade. I know he's not considered a defensive stall-worth at the time but he does bring size, rebounding, and mobility to the table.
They are taking a step backwards and hoping MCW will develop into a more efficient player. Knight was playing extremely well.
Well, Kidd learned to shoot the 3 in Dallas. He can probably use the same process to teach MCW how to shoot period. And they have Dudley for vet leadership.
Knight will cost 14-16 million and Bucks have to give max to GA and JP (if all works well) AND pay Middleton this summer around 10-12 per. NY or LA would steal one of them and they would be left without an asset. This was a wise decision. Very wise and I'm very proud of the new owners. Middleton is just better and more useful than Knight in this team.
The Bucks still won that game, mostly thanks to Knight's clutch play, that missed layup notwithstanding. And I'd rather have Knight than MCW. Knight is already an all-star caliber player, MCW isn't nearly as polished and has been injury prune.
Give the guy a chance under a team that's actually tryna win games. It changes your mentality as a player knowing your team is trying to lose .
