I remember them pretty well in the early to late eighties, winning 50 games I believe like 7 or 8 years in a row under Don Nelson. I'm also pretty sure they made it to the eastern conference finals 3 out of 4 years. They had guys like Sidney Moncrief, Bob Lanier, Dave Cowens, Marques (knock your head off) Johnson. That team was very very good

What a shame. Very predictable though.

Wow, that's just nasty news and Greg Oden/Houston Rockets level bad luck. As if his hideous play this year wasn't already a big enough indicator, he'll never be the same again after all this. Sadly, his days as an impact player in this league are probably over with now.

The bad thing about the injury there was not a lot of contact on the play. I'm not even sure if Kobe even hit his knee as Redd was going up. This sucks he just came back from injury.

Feel bad for the guy. A second round pick that came out of nowhere to be an All-Star only to be derailed by injuries. Comes back and actually wins a Gold Medal in the Olympics only to succumb to more career-threatening injuries.

The dude built a church for his father with his first max-contract paycheck. Sometimes God works in mysterious ways.

I don't like his NBA game as much as many here, but Michael Redd is a good guy. Sorry to hear this.

Redd will never come back is a legit scorer. A continuous, chronic injury involving an ACL and/or MCL is career-threatening. It's disappointing, but at the same time, I'm glad that it happened now instead of later when a team attempted to trade for him.

reaccuring injuries is a b****, and i dont think he will ever come back the same again.

Damn, and the same injury to the same knee. Just terrible luck for him and for the franchise. :(

Glad we didn't pull the trigger, or went after him.

I feel bad for him though, he is a very talented player. We all know too much about injuries, and I pretty much have a soft spot for teams who go through this.

Just not the Jazz or Lakers :p

What I meant was I don't like him as an NBA player as much as others here. I think Michael Redd has been overrated for a long time.

The vast majority of my posts on CF are not NBA related. This is also true for a huge chunk of members, some of whom never discuss basketball. The number of posts really doesn't tell you much about a member at all. That said, I am a big NBA fan.

Clutch/mods, it would be interesting to see a split of members posts. I don't know if you could do it just one time or somehow display it (or maybe percentages instead) on a continual basis with the total number of posts. Just a thought.
