I work at cheesecake and I saw brad their, although he was not wearing crutches. This was likke 1 week ago.
The Bulls let go to a couple centers last off season and Aaron Gray was the more youthful and productive one. How hard you guys think Chitown and N'awlins laughed when we picked up Brad while NOH picked up Aaron Gray?
With the impending lockout it is unlikely they start the season before January anyways. After this season I believe Miller is off the books for good with a small buyout. Miller obviously won't take a buyout this season because... Well what contender would want him? His role next season was that of a consultant player/coach anyways, now he just won't have to dress up for games. I guess who better to help teach the corner offense now that Adelman n co are gone. I just wish the Rockets could use his roster spot for another Rookie with potential.
Good move on his part. Get surgery done so his post nba career/life can be of better quality while milking his current contract situation.
Brad Miller will forever remain in my memory as the guy bricking last second opportunities in the final weeks of the season..he was fun with the Kings though
"According to Sam Amick of Sports Illustrated, Brad Miller underwent microfracture surgery on his left knee in mid-May, and will be out six months. Such a recovery timetable puts Miller back in action during November, so he may miss some games at the start of the season -- though a lockout could delay the start of 2011-12 and have Miller not missing any games. With Yao Ming's future uncertain and Miller potentially missing the start of the year, it could prompt Houston to add a center in the offseason, as it would leave the Rockets somewhat thin behind Chuck Hayes at the position. Ironically and unfortunately, Miller did most things well last season such as Shooting, FT's, Passing, Guidance to other players, except what the Rockets needed most which was Interior D. "After getting it scoped [arthroscopic surgery] last summer, I just had issues with it again this year, so I saw another doctor, and two doctors said it would be the best thing to do," Miller said. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20.../brad.miller.surgery/index.html#ixzz1OSm6mQMf I thought Miller would be a much better defender than what I saw on the Rockets. Maybe part of his turrible defence was due to his knee and or maybe i had an incorrect opinion. I was amazed at how he would foul without really going to defend the ball to at least prevent a 3 point play. At times the effort appeared awkward like when Yao came into league trying to learn how not to foul and play D. If he is to play with the Rockets next season, he will need to Greatly Improve his D in addition to rehab. If the other Rockets Bigs such as Patterson, Hill, ThaBeet, Marcus, Blakely, Scola, Hayes, Yao, etc. are smart they will train in the off-season with McHale, Hakeem, CD, Mutombo, Moses, Kareem, Bill Russell, Shaq, Rodman, etc. as much as possible to improve their post game expecially on D. Martin, Bud, & T-Will have the height to do work in the post also. (Just ask Kobe, Clyde, or MJ) When Patterson started and played alot of minutes due to Scola and Miller's injury, the Rockets appeared to play much better team D. Rox should re-investigate that... If the Rockets guards are smart they will train with Great Defensive Guards. "With Yao Ming's future uncertain and Miller potentially missing the start of the year, it could prompt Houston to add a center in the offseason, as it would leave the Rockets somewhat thin behind Chuck Hayes at the position" Most people understand that for the Rockets to Go Deep in the Playoffs they will need to add Proven Defensive Talent particularly at the Center position. The Rockets have been prompted for a Defensive Center since the retirement of Mutombo... Adding a Proven Defensive and Talented center this offseason is like walking in the street with shoes on except the Rockets have been walking barefooted
